Um... Dark Alliance? As in the action spin off sharing the Baldur's Gate name? It isn't playable online. That's the case with the version I own at least. (Xbox)

Wasn't Dark Alliance hack and slash?

I have both 1 and 2 on the PS2. I wasn't aware online play was possible. I mean unless you were part of the like 5 people that bought PS2 ethernet adapters....

Online wasn't possible with either.

I do know BG1 & 2 for PC work across a LAN and the internet if you know the hosts IP.

Its been a long time since my friends and I have had an epic BG session.

I assume you played FFXI then? Were there other games with a significant online presence?

Oh, in that case it's what andyr1986 wrote. You need to get the host computer's IP and make sure your network isn't blocking out the proper ports. I've never played BG2 via LAN, but I played online with a friend as recently as 1.5 years ago or so, and it definitely works. In-game I went through the TCP/IP tab. Also, you have to make sure everyone is running the exact same version of BG2. Any difference in mods or patches and weird things may happen... such as the game not working. ;)

*Ahem*

Starwars Battlefront II.

*Hangs head in shame*

I've never played the PS2 Monster Hunter, but I adore the PSP versions.
