And lastly, it seems the Dai-Gurren Brigade are big fans of us, too.

Before my time. I mean look at what his companion girl is wearing. I liked the tenth Doctor.
I haven't warmed up to the new one yet, I feel very ambiguous about him. Not the same stage presence.

David Tennant was the best. This new Matt Smith doctor is okay....

But I think Smith is more of a small, more street level theater type of actor while Tennant is very much from the Royal Shakespeare school of thought and both approaches having their own advantages and disadvantages.

All I know is Tennant had a great presence and energy about him that made him extremely compelling. It was easy to see why people listened to him automatically or why he was called "The Oncoming Storm."
When people treat Matt Smith the same way it feels fake because he doesn't have the same presence.

I'm not sure which speech you're talking about. I really hated his little speech/episode with the star whale. He explodes on Amy because she tried to stop him finding out about the whale (though she doesn't even remember making that decision).
"NOBODY HUMAN TALKS TO ME TODAY!!" I was like, ugh, get down off your high horse! She was trying to spare you a crushing emotional dilemma that would destroy your sense of identity! She doesn't deserve this harshness!

DAMN IT. SOMEBODY STOP US!
Everybody, including Amy had chosen to forget. He was dissapointed and upset with her BECAUSE she didn't remember, because she took the easy way out. They all had, that was what upset them - that they would turn a blind eye to the creature's suffering rather than try an do something about it - Amy included.
As far as his anger being justified the Doctor's always been judgmental from high horse, I seem to recall Ten RAGING against UNIT simply because they carried guns which was incredibly unfair and hypocritical of him.
Eleven seems actively interested in actually trying to better his companions by teaching them to stand up and fight for themselves, to think on their own and analyze the situation whereas Ten more or less brought them along and they just happened to get better through osmosis.
As for the speech I was referring to it was the one delivered at the end of the first part of the Weeping Angels two-parter. I think what I mean when I say Smith is more imposing is there is a very, this-is-a-matter of fact when he makes promises to stop you that I think Tennant lacked. This may be also due to the fact that while he started off with a mantra of "no more second chances" he ended up giving almost all of his enemies a second/third/whatever chance whereas Smith so far has backed up and followed through on his threats.

In fact it's Smith's distinct lack of formidableness that I don't like. He looks nine years old and his eyes aren't old enough to make up for it. He also seems much ruder than Tennant, he's always telling people to shut up.
I do, however, absolutely adore Amy Pond.

Ah! I simply disagree that Tennant's promises to stop the enemy were less forceful or imposing. I found him very forceful.

Oh he is definitely more rude, I think those are the elements I like about that. Now we clearly just don't see eye to eye on Smith's ability to be imposing so I won't bother.
I'll say this, there are as I see it different tracts of the Doctor.
1,2,4,6,7,9 and 11 all come from a sort of old codger type of interpretation. They're a bit less "superhero" (I don't meant that insultingly), playing up the scientist or thinker/planner aspects of the character, generally they are more eccentric than outright charismatic. These Doctors have more outright personality flaws and can be prone to fits of outright cruelty if need be. They can be difficult to understand, being more introverted with their personal feelings and thoughts. Most of them are more aloof and have difficulty interacting with people on a normal level being clearly alien.
5, 8 and 10 represent a more compassionate, kind Doctor. In the case of 8 and 10 (and definitely 3) they are much more a "Man of Action!" these definitely appeal to the adventure aspect of the show so to speak and I think they are a bit more humanistic and are less willing to use violence as a means of sorting out their problems. Also generally as I see it they're the most social incarnations, able to mingle with people quite naturally, though 10 could occassionally have bits of 6 in him in that he didn't mind stroking his own ego from time to time. (Also generally more attractive!)
I personally prefer the former interpretation and I "suspect" you might be more inclined to the latter.
3 is super action Doctor, but I won't bother as far as that regeneration goes.

You can understand why I might not like Smith's rudeness when I see him as so young. Instead of a rude centuries-old savior of the galaxy I see a rude kid. It's different.
Try as I might I don't see the Doctor when I look at him. It's like he's a separate character entirely. Perhaps as I watch more of him I'll get more used to him. I found it interesting that he was irresponsible with watching that kid who went off to grab his headphones in the last episode with the ****** reptilia. He always struck me as a bit inattentive of the people around him except where his own image is concerned and it was interesting to see consequences of that.

Well I honestly have only seen the last three doctors. The rest are before my time. So I'm not sure about the distinctions, but it seemed to me that the last three, at least, were universally opposed to violence and guns.
Tennant seemed very anti-gun but Eccleston was willing to use a weapon against a Dalek and let his allies use weapons as well. I don't think McGann really gave us anything to work with but if I had to guess I'd agree that he'd be anti-gun.
The Fourth Doctor blew a couple of people away with a weapon he constructed, the Fifth Doctor shot a Cyberman a couple of times in the chest and strangled its ventilation system and the Sixth fired a couple of times on a Cyberman as well. The 7th liked to blow up entire fleets/planets.

I feel that he acts well past his age (something I applaud him for), and they've made a quite a few jokes to which the Doctor has agreed about his looks for me not to be bothered. Scenes where he hunches or moves his hands about not knowing what to do with them, the way he claps his hands at his chest when thinking or listening and his preference for bowties, he's an incredibly quirky Doctor, as if he's stuck in a body not made for him.

His inattentiveness was due to his mind working faster than he can keep up, if you watch the scene he's gotten lost in looking at the computer display despite being incredibly compassionate with the boy a moment ago. Smith's Doctor has a tendency to forget things such as when he forgot why put a glass of water on the floor in the Space Whale episode.
Actually, you might just want to watch the first ever episode: An Unearthly Child, I believe its on YouTube, even the first ten minute clip is good - you will be SHOCKED at the Doctor's behavior in that one.
Edit: Actually the second and third clip, the Doctor doesn't show in the first ten minute segment but the whole thing is only 30 min.
EDIT 2: Damn BBC seems they've taken down the third parts.
Well suffice to say the Doctor was a complete bastard.
