We know they do.  Ascension says as much, as does the fact that practically every other alien species looks something like humans (eyes, nose, ears, neck, mouth, teeth, etc all in the same general relation to one another, bipedal locomotion with a quadrapedal body plan, tapered digits at the ends of hands, including opposable thumbs, so on and so forth ad nauseum). Not to mention the facial structure you can see if you use camera tricks to peek beneath the mask.  Nothing to do with being a Tali fan.  I'm not at all interested in her whole LI sub-plot, but the fact is, quarians and humans simply have a lot in common anatomically, and the face is included in that.

Only basic similarities. Turians too look "something like" humans when you consider they have two arms, two legs, a head and neck, etc. To imply that quarians look like *that* is simply pure fanboy insanity.

seriously dude, you can see the outline of her face in the helmet, she looks ALOT like a human. You're just here to ****** off the tali fanboys

I thought those statues on Ilos were supposed to be of protheans (with the tentacles coming out of their eyes and whatnot).

eh... it's their story and concept... i guess they could design or come up with whatever idea they want and all.:alien:

i guess protheans evolved from squids or something... like life here on planet earth from the sea to land

Yeah I hate that drawing. All of the fanboys use it for everything when it is clear as all hell that she doesn't look anything remotely like that.

Prove it.

I agree. Prove it. Any view of her face you get is distorted by the visor. Transparent convex surfaces are notorious for it. The nose for instance will appear larger than it actually is. With a camera lens you can experience it at the wide end particularly on a head shot - it's called barrel distortion.

Well, for one her eyes aren't glowing enough to show through a dark visor. Her skin tone is too dark for someone who's lived in a suit her whole life. Also If you remember one of the talks from grunt he says that quarians aren't soft like humans, salarians, or asari. So the skin features are out. Quarian feet suggests either amphibious or reptillian origin. The former is unlikely given that Rannoch is more arid than earth. The latter would make them more similar to turians, drell, and krogan, however I believe they lack dextro DNA. So at the very least they must have tougher skin/features, Stronger bones, and very pale skin.

and no......I'm not Mordin Solus. I'm just a high-school student with way to much time on his hands.B)

An alternate version i've seen of the same picture.

Her skin isn't too dark for someone who's live in a suit her entire life, it would be if she was human, but since we already know she isn't, her skin pigment is totally unrelated to our knowlege of how the exposure to ultraviolet radiation affects human skin color.

Yes I do remember grunt mentioning Quarians not being soft as Salarians, Humans or Asari, however i recognized that as being a hint to the Quarians strength of spirit and will - They're a race on the verge of extinction, a race that's lost everything but they're still fighting and still willing to go to war with the geth even though Quarians, aren't fit to be frontline warriors, due to their weakened immune system, as Kal'Reegar stated. He didn't mention Turians or Krogan cause those are both warrior races. He could've taken other races as an example but what would be the point in listing all the intelligent races in the galaxy just to make a point?

In fact, most races in Mass Effect only have three digits on hands and feet, the exception being Humans, Asari and Batarians. (I'm unsure about Drell, Thane looks like he has 5 digits on his hands but at the same time, 2 fingers appears to be grown together) So that really doesn't prove anything.

And the whole thing with their dextro amino acid thing is a bit silly if you look at it from a scientific perspective, now I'm no scientist but the way I've understood it is if we were to eat their food or vice versa there would be no ill effects for either party, the body would just "re-arrange" the amino acids as a part of the natural digestive process. Also, something composed of dextro-amino acids and proteins would have a sweet sugary taste, it definately wouldn't kill you.

So really, they could very well look like that picture. Also, when that picture first surfaced, a dev (can't rememver who) said it very closely resembles their vision of how tali looks like beneath her mask.

she's a elf? isn't that facial tribal symbol stuff elves do (vulcans/romulans/elf/jaffa)? she looks more like a futuristic draenei/goat being a quarian and all.

how come shephard looks like aragon from Lord of the Rings?

Who else was going to help him though? I'd rather not have worked for Cerberus as well, but they have their uses.

This picture is basically a teenager with skin problems and a bad hair cut in a Tali suite, it's more an example of cosplay then how she might actually look like. That would be very uncreative of Bioware to make the Quarians look so much like humans. I would be dissapointed if they did. I don't want her to be ugly or anything, but she's an alien not a human teenager in a suite.:alien:

The plot is set. Shep helped TIM because TIM was helping colonists, they allied for that reason, no other, after collector threat is over Shep leaves....I don't see plothole. So please explain.

Quit posting those wicked Lost your Squad pictures. There is a seperate topic for this. This one is about motivationals, not copy/paste posters.

I didn't think it was facial symbols, i just figured it was differntiating pigments in her skin.
