All this Jacob hate is starting to play itself out. It gets annoying seeing how everyone claims that the reason why Jacob is hated is because he "had a bad romance" or is a boring character however, 4-6 months before the release of ME2 Jacob was probably the most joked about ME2 squad character.

Word. You know, so many people complain about how you're always the emotional crutch for your companions, and then when they get a character who is not in need of long hours of therapy, he gets called dull and boring. And as for the romance thing... No one FORCES you to romance him, you know. Hell, his romance is blatant about you being the one who pursues him, not the other way around, and it's still your choice to pick the dialogue options.

I would disagree on the not being forced to romance jacob. Every time i tried to talk to him and be a paragon about it, Femshep started talking in this flirty sexy voice. Even when i was just asking how he was. I purposely avoid talking to him all together because one time i was talking to him after the suicide mission for my no romance character and suddenly we were having sex. I got trapped into it, there was no way out! I have seen a few comics about this so i'm sure i'm not the only one who has had this problem.

But for the racism i have seen towards jacob, that is pretty disgusting.

I've not really seen any racism towards Jacob, just legitimate complaints with his dull character and bad romance, and the way Shepard is forced to talk to him as if she's about to rape him.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we need to show some support for an oft mocked and scorned member of the ME universe. Time and again Shepard has been aided by his calm demeanor under stress yet all he recieves for his loyalty is rejection by his peers. He has no hidden agenda. Viewed from almost any standpoint he is easy to see through and understand.

Mock me if you will, I am proud to say that I support all that he has to offer!

This was my only problem with Jacob.  The tone of voice femshep used was just...not appropriate for a commanding officer.  I didn't talk to him because of femshep's lines, not his personality.  I actually really liked his side quest.
