  Funny...  I'm american but about 75% of my ancestry is english.  Another fifteen percent of that thereabouts is welsh and scottish.  The other ten percent being a smattering of german, dutch and a little bit of french.  Not sure where this conversation leaves me then

im not gonna say my countrys better or anything i just want to point out that normans are not french, they were vikings who took over the area which is now normandy, the frenchc alled them normans, which means norsemen/northmen.

Normans aren't technically from France, but most french are Normans. If that makes any sense.
