Elevator from C-sec to alliance dock in ME1 is what, 1 min? Normandy elevator was like 6+ secs, imagine having to ride that between 4 different floors. Now THAT would freak me out.

You must have a fast computer. It's definitely slower than 1-2 seconds for me.

The Normandy SR1 elevator never seemed that slow

If you're playing on the PC and have a dual core machine (single and quad don't have this problem), you may need a ultility called "Mass Affinity" ( www.playwrite-blog.net/tools-and-utilities/auto-set-processor-affinity-for-mass-effect-2-pc-with-massaffinity-fix-those-load-times/ )

It can make a huge difference.
