I have a feeling that graphics will be an issue for some reviewing parties.

The graphics aren't bad, but in the other thread on things that irk people the blood splatter might get annoying after a while. Might be graphic requirements are tad on the high side, though I hope the scaling should be good.

but come on, more recently Fallout 3 got a 91, so I would even say 112 would be fair in this case.....
Anyway, so that to answer your question 95. I hope a well deserved 9.5.

Yep, exactly what I was going to say. With all this bs with Oblivion getting so high scores...cyanrabbit wrote...

As for F3 - as a hardcore F1 and F2 fan, I was really dissapointed in F3.
Oh, nevermind my rants...

Hopefully that trend continues and the game lives up to that when we get our hands onto it.

Compared to Morrowind, Oblivion might not have been as good (though that's debatable) but it is a very nice looking game with a lot of polish and content, so I think a 94 is pretty fair. That doesn't mean that DA:O will do any worse though, KotOR also got a 94, so while that kind of score is a huge task to manage, they've done it before.

I find that RPG's tend to be judged more harshly then other styles of games.
Fallout 3 got a good score because it's got a lot of first person shooter elements. At least, IMHO.

I'm a younger guy and I tired to go back and play F1 and F2 when I had a gametap account and I'm sad to say that I had trouble doing it. However, I was disappointed in F3 because it just wasn't that dramatic, or didn't have that much of a powerful story, at least in my opinion. It was fun at first to run around, shoot things and etc, but to me it just never really felt like I had enough of an impact. Maybe I just didn't get far enough, but meh.

You do realize that a score of 100 would require every included review to have given the game a 100? That's already an impossiblity, as far as I know no reviewer has yet to give DA:O a 100 (though that doesn't mean there won't be one that will).GhoXen wrote...
95-100 for my prediction. Just recently MGS4 got a score of 10 on gamespot.
There was also a bit of controversy over that MGS4 review, but that's a story for another day.

Um, I think this is, where was the trouble.
I'd hate to say it but the controls and the graphics were just too outdated for me.
I did go back and play through planescape torment which I absolutely loved and I've gone back and played baulders gate 2, but something about fallout 1 and 2 just rubbed me the wrong way. Something about the interface or graphics.

I have never played an unmodded Oblivion but I have seen it and agree that it doesn't look all that great and knowing what the mods I have installed, changed, I know what aspects of gameplay kinda sucked. However, a fully modded Oblivion is something truly majestic. Of course there was a lot of missed potential, but the game is truly epic. It is second, in my book, to the infinity engine games. I haven't played KotOR yet so I can't factor that in.
