They DID involve 4chan in the Zynga vs Valve vote, and guess what, it was an extremely stupid idea, because the goons went and voted for Zynga.

4channers get off by griefing others, and the best way to grief in this situation is to vote for Zynga.

I can't believe we are going to beat the behemoth Blizzard. Unfortunately, it looks like that Zynga (Farmville) company has really been recruiting their casual facebook crowd into voting. We'll likely be overwhelmed in the final round.

Voting is closed now, but as far as I understand they're still counting the twitter votes.

Zynga is (most likely) out, and order has once again been restored in the galaxy.

Valve and Bioware could certainly lose it all to the Twitter votes. Zynga fans in particular seem the premiere Twitter market. The Escapist said that Twitter votes have only been accounting for 2% of the vote, but 2% of 20,000 pretty much negates the lead Valve had from the forum.

But Valve fans are one of the most fanatical to exist and the concept of them losing to a bunch of twelve-year olds dicking around in a fake farm would be rather distasteful. You need to remember that Valve has Twitter votes too and most people who vote for Valve are 'core' gamers who are repulsed by the idea of Zygna winning over a 'core' gaming company. But yes, I share your concern, because the same dregs who play Farmville are usually the types of dregs who tweet about them playing Farmville, so we'll wait to see how this plays out.

Seeing Valve pull ahead like that at the last minute was definitely a refreshing thing to wake up too since they were still trailing at like 2 in the morning. It definitely will be nice for the universe to go back to way it was. Zynga getting that far is pretty painful to conceive.
