you could press e(on pc) to get a higher zoom......dang, now the sniper rifle is even better!!!!

Hey, I didn't know that!

Dumbest thing = I thought mercs couldn't see me if I hid in a minagen cloud.
Second dumbest = getting lost on the collector ship and running all the way back to the spawn point several times.

Can't recall my most idiot-feeling moment, but there was one getting betrayed by the turian officier on Purgatory only to realize it was foreshadowed from the lack of face paint...

Lol this, plus the fact that there are several comically-dramatic "significant looks" exchanged between the warden and Shepard/your party.  Every Purgatory playthrough after the first one has made me feel like a total chump for not anticipating it the first time.

When I played back through all Garrus' recruitment mission just to stab that guy in the back repairing the gunship (I didn't do it the first time since I was trying to play pure Paragon) thinking that it might be able to save Garrus' from getting his cool scars :P

Red sand is a drug, right? Or did I miss something in Ascension?

Yeah, it gives the user weak, weak biotics.  Biotic God was probably high in Red Sand.  for me, I realized Red sand did that when Grayson was high on it in his appartment.  I'll admit it took a little deduction before I saw it, but I got it.

But Lilihierax didn't have face paint, and he was a stand-up dude. :)

He had a jersey accent, I liked him.

Missed the Human Reaper with a Cain shot.

Also when I couldn't figure out how to exit the Mako to open those doors on Therum in ME1, because the game never really TELLS you how to do that...

I had that, but on Luna with the Rogue VI.  I resorted to the key bindings menu to find out!

The few times i've miss-clicked and messed up a hack/bypass were pretty stupid too.

Realizing that the Conduit does not lead to a super-secret-area of the Citadel. The bloody Conduit only teleported you to the base of the Citadel Tower.

First time you meet with the council and I discovered they still don't believe me about the Reapers. I don't know I honestly expected that to be the last thing to happen you know after I saved their lives.

Second time when I was on the Collector ship and I realized it was a trap well before Shepard did. I was just screaming at the TV "It's a trap!"

It happens to me all the time. Kind of.

There are loads of dialog options that make Shepard look like an idiot, because I selected it and instead of commenting on what someone was talking about, or suggesting something smart, as I expect, he says something stupid and the other character basically tells Shepard he's an idiot.

My prime moron moment was when I finally Realized Harbinger was a reaper talking to the Collector General and not the General talking to Shepard

"You have failed, we will find another way"

"What do you mean I failed? I just blew the **** out of your Reaper sundae machine!"

Yeah that one happened to me too. *sheepish grin*
I blame being tired after staying up til 3am to finish ME2 for the first
time. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]

The worst of it is that I didn't realize at all that Harbinger was NOT the collector general until I finished ME2 again last night.

When I figured out that Urdnot was a clan designation.

And here was me sitting here through all of game 1 thinking "That is just a really awful first name..."

Same. I did figure it out before it was explicitly stated in ME2, but I remember getting really annoyed through the first two or three ME1 playthroughs when no one ever used his 'first name'. When I finally figured out Wrex was his name, it was a definite 'D'oh!' moment - especially as I hate it when every alien has the exact same naming system as English humans. There's some cultures here even that employ tribal names, and in varying orders.

IccaRa wrote...

I'm not sure if this counts, but the first genophage conversation with Wrex (ME1) made Shepard look like a giant idiot. :(

Of all the things that got to me in ME1 (and to be fair, there weren't many), this was by far the worst.

"It seems pretty much the same to me."

No Shepard, you blundering idiot! Even if you were stupid enough to think that a brief occupation was in anyway similar to the near sterilization of entire species, even if whatever mediocre history tutoring the Alliance gave you never covered a fundamental aspect of a commonly hostile species, you don't say something like that to a massive, towering , muscular lizard man famed for blood rage whose loyalty to your mission you're trying to obtain.

Why were ALL THREE dialogue options so utterly asinine!

Even just "Yeah turians are all w*nkers, they tried to have a war with us. Let's talk about how annoying we find them for our respective reasons" would have been a better response than that.

After the Normandy Abduction. I said "We're going to save the crew right away! To the Omega 4 Relay!!"

Then I dicked around for about 5 hours finishing side missions, collecting minerals, and buying **** on Illium.

Dr. Chackwas was the only crew member that survived : (

Thinking brogarrus would be a full character. Man was I stupid.

But really. Nothing made me feel stupid. Some stuff made me feel incredibly awkward but that's not new.

Looking back on it, the moment I paid actual cash for ME2. Hindsight is 20/20.

This. I thought it would be like ME1 where its generally best to search very carefully to find all the collectables and complete the UNC missions.
