i was about to just totally write off Bioware. 4 months after release and still no patch to fix the serious bugs (dex, save coruption, corpse bug, ect) I havent even bought ME2 yet, and planned to just boycot bioware because i was so disapointed with DA. I had already boycotted EA years ago and broke my poilcy just because i love Bioware so much. Imagine my disapointement when i saw a seriously buggy game and no fix on the horizon while our PC brothers got a patch very quickly

Then a buddy asked me what i thought of ME2 and after i told him i hadn't bought it because DA pissed me off so bad he said there was a patch recently. Sure enough i log on and there is one!

is this the patch ive been waiting for? the one that the pc uses got months ago? or is it just another achievment bug fix or something? I really wish there was a way to tell what xbox updates do

if its just another achievement fix is it safe to assume bioware has just gone to hell and i can throw them on my do not buy list with EA?

If you currently do not have Awakenings don't bother updating.

HAHAHA! No, it's a worthless patch. Just adds more bugs and adds the compatibility for Awakenings. I still haven't allowed my Xbox to get it.

so basically it was a patch to make it easier for them to upsell us more garbage add on content instead of fixing the core problems then?

*sigh* this really bums me out. Is there ANY plan to patch it or have they just given up? I really need an answer to that. ive asked here and goten no answer, ive even tried emailing them but the form takes you over to EA who sent me a generic 'ask on the forums' letter. I really dont know what else to do at this point.

I havent touched the game in months and still have not bought ME2 because of this. I dont want to give up on one of my favorite companies but i am not going to support a company that doesnt' give a damn about its fans and releases broken products.

This actually makes me angrier.. they're putting effort into expansions and patching stuff FOR the expansions but havent done a damn thing about bugs pc users had fixed months ago

Does anyone know if theres a customer service email for bioware itself? I really want to email them and let them know they're losing a big fan here. Kotor was my fave xbox game and ME1 is in my top 3 360 ones. Hell, i beat it 8 times. I know it wont make a difference one way or the other but i really would like to let them know why im not purchasing their games anymore. hell, maybe i'll get an answer on if they ever plan on patching

Short version?

They ignored all the problems with the original, released Awakenings, and then FINALLY a dev popped in to acknowledge that they are "aware" of all the problems detailed herein. Whether they actually fix them or not remains to be seen. I'm not optimistic anymore....

Simple but accurate, this is the situation.

For the OP: Me too, I´m done giving money to EA/bioware.

As another user said in some thread:
"Thats why I'm buying Bioware games USED for my 360 from now on.
Perfect solution if you want to play their games but don't want to reward them for their lack of support.
"

...and quality.

I think I've run into almost every possible bug in this game, (which is saying a lot due to the number of them Image IPB)
Have you tried making a pure archer?  With the dex bug it is a rather useless build as are dual daggers, though not as much with daggers but still noticable. Save corruption is the worst one though, nothing like losing 240 hours....
Sadly this latest "patch" did nothing to fix the game only made the expansion work, which of course added it's own bugs to the long list that carry over. Image IPB

While I see your frustration...you are being unwise for not buying ME2 because of DA:O, and I can safely say that Mass Effect 2 is 99% bug free, and very worth buying and playing, especially if you liked the first one.

And I have yet (*knock on wood*) to experiencing any bugs with both Origins and Awakening.  I feel as though you guys just got unlucky.

I have a feeling that BioWare will completely overhaul series, keeping what worked and greatly improving what didnt. Hopefully in same way they did with the Mass Effect series. So while there are bugs and problems now, dont give up on BioWare just yet.

So are you saying I should just forget about a game I paid over $100 for and hope that the next game, which will cost the same, be better?

For all that is good and holy, don't apply the 1.03 patch. It actually introduces more bugs than have been fixed since release. Sure, it solves what it says, but the vast majority of serious bugs are still there. It doesn't fix anything critical whatsoever. All your complaints are still there - and on top of that, it creates a massive amount of really bothersome bugs.

Also, Awakening isn't a full expansion. It's just a premium module that doesn't add any of the new stuff to the main game, whilst being extremely bug-ridden. Stay clear.

I'm not trying to troll here. I may harbor no love for ElectroWare, but this isn't personal. Just. Steer. Clear.

99% Bug-free? I actually lol'd.

Or maybe you're not attentive. After 5 months, I run into a gamebreaking bug.

I'm just going to pull up -one- of the bugs introduced in 1.03/Awakening; Steal is broken. Completely. Affecting everyone. So no-one that is running 1.03/Awakening can say "I haven't seen any bugs" if they actually play the game.

Yeah, but that's not really the point. Sure, they may overhaul stuff for Dragon Age 2. Sure. But that still doesn't fix -this- game and if they can't even be bothered to fix this one, what makes you think that they'll fix issues that no doubt will be introduced in DA2?

You want us to keep buying games, so that sometime around Dragon Age 10, we'll hopefully have a relatively bug-free and "perfected" experience?

Haha, no.

....Look, I was just trying to be an optimist. Sure DA:O isn't perfect, it has its bugs, problems, glitches, complaints...have you ever played a game that was perfect or near perfect? Very few games have been completely glitch free.

Whether BioWare put all its other projects aside just to fix these problems 'everyone' seems to be getting or not, no one knows. But chances are they have some people working on and we 'might' see a patch in the future, but seeing as to how BioWare is working on Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, AND Star Wars: The Old Republic (which is one hell of a project), a patch to fix everyone's problems is most likely not going to happen in the near future...but who knows, maybe tomorrow there will be a patch or perhaps it will never come out.

Sure you can think that you wasted $100 on buggy games, sure you can **** and complain all you want, but it won't help the problem. And there are a billion things you can waste money on that are way more expensive than this.

So either be patient, or go play Wii Sports because I trust BioWare with my money as they have yet to make a game that I didn't like and know that Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, and SWTOR will be worth whatever they ask for it.

Goodnight

Thank you fanboy. With that attitude EA/BW can keep on pumping out crap knowing that people like you will buy it regardless.

I believe this is the larger (and more troubling) issue. It certainly appears that insufficient resources were allocated to correcting DA:O defects, and now BioWare's pipeline is filled with other projects, each of which has its own timetables and deadlines. There's no indication that the devs will ever be given time to patch DA:O and that this, in fact, may be an acceptable business plan. A cost/benefit analysis may well show that the company stands to lose more by delaying the other projects in the pipeline than they would gain by fixing DA:O. Worse, the deployment of DA:O might be viewed as a success, prompting a similar level of support for these upcoming products, as well.

Past performance is not necessarily an accurate predictor of future behavior, but I wouldn't hold out much hope for SWTOR if 5+ months is considered a reasonable amount of time to go without addressing significant game defects (see also: server reliability).

The fact that they are working on other projects, in no way whatsoever, takes away their obligation to have this game actually working properly. If it were a few minor bugs then sure, but there are game breaking bugs, character builds useless, broken quests, glitched endings, I mean the fact that they've had five months and done nothing but release more content to get money instead of a patch to fix this game is insulting and quite annoying. If they can't even get this game running properly, what reason could I have to give them more money, especially for an expansion. I honestly don't think they deserve my money for a sequel or expansion until they actually deliver a game that works as it says right in the instruction manual. The sad thing is though that because people just keep mindlessly buying up every dlc and expansion that they make it just encourages them to keep up the same behavior, I mean why fix the game when so many people will keep shelling out cash for dlc/expansions without any fixes. Anyways that's my rant, I am just very frustrated in the direction things are going in general, namely greed ruining games.

If a significant patch doesn't come out "in the near future" then Bioware can expect no more patronage from me on any new products. They're on their last life with me and many others.

That sucks and I have made about every class you can make and another thing that Bioware needs to do is make the Blood Dragon armor accesable in Awakening because when you transfer your character over he loses his armor and is naked and you cant upload the armor into the game!
