Does the Lorik Qui'in glitch corrupt save files?

I haven't used this glitch yet, but I was thinking about using it to reach 100% Paragon, however, I read the following on the Mass Effect wiki:

"using the "Lorik Qui'in Glitch" to acquire unlimited Paragon and/or
Renegade Points has been known to corrupt save files. Thus, certain
decisions made in Mass Effect are flagged as the opposite choice. This
can prevent certain characters from returning in Mass Effect 2, or
certain emails from being sent to Shepard."

Has anyone heard of this problem elsewhere? I searched the forums and google and this is the only reference to this problem I have seen. Thanks!

I had a friend who used this glitch, and at a much later point in the game his save files were corrupt. Are they related? Possibly, but not for certain.

I'm also an Xbox 360 user. Kappus, did the save become corrupted later in ME1, or when it was transferred to ME2? The wiki seems to imply that the files will only be corrupted when carried over to ME2 (which is my main concern), and not while still playing ME1. I wanted to reach 100% Paragon to carry it over to ME2, but not if the file will be corrupted.

This isn't related to the glitch, but to Lorik Qui'in and Synthetic Insights. Hopefully someone has some answers.

(Possible Spoilers?!)

I played ME2 a couple times before I went back and played ME1 for an import. On the non imported runs on Illium I could do the Synthetic Insights Rep mission, but when I imported my ME1 file the Synthetic Insights Rep and Quarian are gone. In my ME1 run I helped Lorik take down Anoleis and rid the thugs inside Synthetic Insights, is this the reason the mission is now missing in ME2? Any help would be appreciated, it has been bugging me.

By the way, Kenzie (or anyone else), what happens if you import a file with full paragon and renegade? Are there any advantages/disadvantages? Are there any ME1 advantages/disadvantages to having both?

Also, thanks for all the answers everyone! If anyone has had any other experiences please let me know.

Yeah, they show up after Conrad Verner goes away.

Thank you so much!  I figured that might be the case.  I'll give it a go when I get home.

Nope, from personal experience on the XBOX with over 10 different Shepards from ME1 to ME2, no problems whatsoever

don't worry my imported shepard had 100% paragon and renegade and nothing happens, the unique difference is that you begin with a little quantity of renegade and paragon points.

From my experience using the glitch on PC, there were no problems whatsoever. Well the Conrad bug is there, but that's a common issue, and not caused by the glitch.

What you gain is a heap of {Paragon and Renegade points which makes it much easier to keep your team together and get various convo options.

The glitch had no adverse effects on my import either. (100% paragon and renegade)

From what I can tell, a full paragon or renegade meter in ME1 translates into one block in the paragon or renegade meter in ME2. If you had both meters maxed out in ME1, you get one block of each in ME2.

If you're that worried, do the Lorik Qui'in glitch only for the infinite Renegade points, and then do the Eletania monkey (UNC: Lost Module) glitch for infinite Paragon points.

Well, it sounds like no one has actually had any problems with this glitch, so I'll probably just use it. Thanks for the responses everyone!

I never had a problem with it in ME1 but I don’t know about an import into ME2 since I don’t remember who I used it on now. -X-Box user.

Recall the mission in ME1 that opened up with 80% paragon was bugged. You got a "bloodbath" news announcement no matter how many drugged scientists were kept alive. Apparently the bug carried over in ME2, where Sirta Foundation will always be "likely to close by the end of the year".

I'm pretty sure that the wiki entry is related to the following thread:

http://social.biowar...5/index/1741320

Basically, Prince had some carryover issues like Gianna claiming that he screwed up her mission when he didn't. When he went back and didn't use the Quin glitch, everything was fine.

No, using glitches or cheats doesn't corrupt your save

Using a trainer might, but it's doubtful

i think it just stems from the me2 importer looking at paragon first - most times i filled my renegade bar >100% and nearly filled the paragon bar, but it takes the first and assumes you are paragon (especially if you save the council, which was a logical choice, not really paragon/renegade).
