Yes. It is a plot hole. But BioWare did a fantastic job of the story. They had a few plot holes but what story doesn't. Its sometimes tough to remember every minor detail.
ME2's story is mediocre.
A story that doesn't have plot holes: a well written one.

I just want to know where the mercs get their heat clips from, and why can't I buy some from their supplier. And where did my party member get those clothes which is just as protective as my armor. And why did Thane lose his ability to go through vents after he joined me. Or why I couldn't go through vents to begin with. How come can Jack biotic punch when I can't. What about Samara's biotic feather fall??? And if I have to feed my fish, why don't I have to feed the space hamster?
Epic.
You forgot, why must I enter the Flotilla in full body suit when Miranda only needs a holographic mask thingy over her face?? Surely that violates contamination protocol?

Design fail on Bioware's part.

That's quite the cynical view. I respectfully disagree. I thought ME2's story was one of the best I have played in a game, second only to KOTOR. It does have a few plotholes, but the story was so good I often overlooked them. The only one that mildly irritated me was Jacob's recruiting mission and the heat sinks. Other than that, I thought the res of the "plot holes" were quite minor. IMHO.

Or why we can't strap a camara to Shepard's head. Honestly all we need is some duct tape, and a camara.

But it's easy to not like anything after the 13th or 14th playthrough, the first time I played I thought it was pretty baddass but as I played more I realized ME1 was a better Bioware game ME2 was a better Shooter.

A vision and a dream are two different things.
The beacon imprinted a memory onto Shepard like watching a tv news cast of protheans being butchered.
If it was a dream it would be hard to read. Broken into many pieces.
Like JOker describing EDI when he greased up her cameras.
Dreams are broken into many pieces, like if it had interruptions.
Memories are vivid and fluid. Dreams and nighmares only remains so immidiately after awakening, and even then most aren't.
So duno about that. It is very possible for the asari to figure out which is it.

Well yeah. Of course. The more you play something (sans sandbox games) the more you are going to notice faults and get bored. I played KOTOR 8 times and I was bored with it. Its one of the best RPGs of all time. Unless its an online game, it will eventually get boring.
I love how BioWare improved the messy inventory system but they simplified it too much. Middle ground would be nice. I don't mind BioWare's style of RPG story. The mix-and-match story used in every BioWare game gives a sense of choice (I am aware its not really a "choice" per say) rather than stick the player on a strict linear gameplay line (FF13 is one I have heard of that is linear). If I replay a game that much, you are going to eventually grow to dislike the game/get bored with it.

As for Ash/Kaiden I do belive their wearing the Phoenix Armor from the first game. That armor had a heal over time propery on it that wasn't listed in the stats. So it is likely due to this regenerative nature an upgraded version might have posion treatment. Thus removeing the paralitic nature of the sting; and so after having it wear off earlier s/he ran of and hid to report back.
