Oh, it did.  Basically, I ripped all the audio banks of ME2, and spent a little time each day listening to it on a playlist on my MP3 software.  If a soundfile sounded particularly "exploitable," I'd pause the playback, title it with the text of the quote, and put it in a folder for that character.  Took me about two weeks to listen to it all and categorize.

That's some hard work right there. I applaud you.

Is there any way to extract the subtitles and link them with the sound files? That could save a lot of time.

Why? That was ****ing hilarious.

I haven't heard a lot of blowback, to be honest.  I got dared to post it on the Tali thread, and I hear it got mostly ignored.  I like to think that most fans around here have a sense of humor about things like this.

Might have been worse if I'd gone with my original script, and Tali had never actually agreed to Shepard's plan before Grunt had gotten to it.  I wasn't quite ready to go THAT far.

If they work as well as YouTube's current setup... I doubt it would help much. 

It's a thought, but considering I'm going through hundreds of sound files at a time, it'd be hard for me to figure out which sound file corresponded to which piece of text. Plus, I've pretty much gone through all the ME2 library already, so the work's pretty much finished.

Oh, man... I was just thinking, imagine if they ever release that software they used to give Ebert his voice back, and put it in the hands of somebody like me...

Yes.  It's in a conversation between him and Morinth (where Morinth drops cover for some reason) on Tuchanka.

I'm a trivia master when it comes to anything regarding audio in Mass Effect 2 now.  Did you know that they cut a conversation between Jack and Zaeed on Omega?  (Or nobody on the Jack thread has been able to find it, but I'm pretty sure it was cut.)  I reassembled it here.

Also, there are quite a few lines left over for same-sex romances in the files, even through they were never used. The most interesting I found was that all the dialogue is still there for a FemShep/Jack Renegade romance.

Here's one of the best easter eggs I found.  I think it was just a placeholder for where Garrus romance lines for MaleShep would have gone, but still... Meer brings his best deadpan for this one.

*Also that conversation is curious, probably to accent Jack's paranoia around mercs or something.  Or else Zaeed is lying but the VA sounded very convincing.
