Hi,

I have made four spells, each from existing abilities/monster abilities/spells and then tried to add them back into the game under its own school... however when i went to add them using "addtalent" nothing happens... I have followed the wiki and any guides i can find, something is missing...

Are there any log files which i can check for clues?

Here are the format of both the AbiBase and GuiType files.

Until i can manage to add them there is no way for me to continue testing to find out if the scripts i have altered correctly, any help guys?

Thanks in advance!!

Other than mistakes setting the PrereqAbility , nothing obvious jumps out at me. It's fine to have the first one require Mage (obviously the spell wouldn't be useful to anyone else), but the rest should require the previous spell. Also, now that I look at it, what level is the character you are trying to give this to? The abilities seem to require a level 20 or higher character (prereqlevel column), so if the character is 19 or lower, they won't be available to him, even with the addability command.

Hmm, some thoughts:

Did you export Talktable, Module XML and Manifest XML?

Do the spells show up under the characters spells & talents sheet?

What's the value of "showinchargen" (ABI*.gda)? Try 7.

In your guitypes gda, try setting "Ability" to 4023. This will tell the game to show that guitype if the character has talent 4023 (= Wizard).

In your ABI gda, set "prereqability" to 0, not 4023. If you want a spell to build onto a previous one, though, use the previous one's ABI entry.

Hi, the prerequisit of level 20 was on purpose, but i do admitt that may have been me getting ahead of myself so i have taken these out to troubleshoot. alas no luck there...

The spell does not show up under the players talent/spell sheet...

I have made the changes above, disabled all other addin's and started with a new game in DAO and DAA and nothing... i do appreciate the help!!

So for the moment i went back to basic's to see if there is something wrong...

So i wanted to use something i knew that worked, so practically copied the full heal tutorial step by step to add the FULL_HEAL spell and just left everything the same and again this spell to does not appear in game... One thing came to mind... when you are creating the 'ABIBASE' file there are other workbooks in the excel file too, are these supposed to be deleted?

I cant see where im going wrong...

Any idea's?

I have redone the ABI_Base file without the additional workbooks and the same thing happened... Im not sure at what stage this is going wrong but i have followed the tutorial exactly, is there something i could try?

The files seems right, so maybe that does not come from them but from their location. Then in the properties of your module, does the Extended Module field is set to Single Player? And do you think to add "_fh" to your guitype and abi_base file names?

I have double checked this and yes, i have selected 'single player' in the extended module field, and renamed both the ABI_Base file and guitypes with _fh.gda at the end. Is there anywhere in the module which needs to point to the location of the files or does just being in the overide folder the toolset exports it to enough??

Could i get you or someone to compile the Full_Heal module so i could add a known working addin to my game to see if its a fault with that, then i could re-download my copy of DOA and DAA again through steam if that does not work.

Big thanks in advance!!

There is no information to add in the module about where are the .gda files. But it is important to generate a Manifest XML as precised by Trylane, but you have already done it I suppose.

Here is an example of talent addition :

Does it work or not ? If yes, please add "Solved" in the header, explain the origin of your problem and how you solved it. That can interest people with the same problem (and me also :P)
