KOTOR was amazing for its time but if BW released a game with that limited of character interaction in present day, people would be furious. ME2 has the best character interaction of any BW game IMO. ME2 also has the best gameplay of any BW game, with JE as a close second.

What are you talking about? In KotOR you could talk to your party members at any time, and there would be certain key moments where just having them with you would trigger quests or moments you wouldn't get otherwise. Outside of a character's loyalty quest, ME2 pretty much relegates you to dialogue on The Normandy with your party. DAO has better character interaction than ME2 as well, and at least doesn't have a purely binary loyalty system.

KOTOR was the game that got me into rpg's definitely going with that.

Overall my favorite is KOTOR. It may not have as good of voice actors and all kinds of special effects and nifty game play mechanics, but sometimes those things can detract from a games story, which motivates me to play the game more than anything else.

There is a lot of thing I like about ME2 better the graphic, character development, more developed classes, revamp of inventory system, and so on. ME1 was better in my opinion of variety of missions, environment development of space stations and planets that gave the game and environments depth and scale, romance scenes where more mature and less PG, and who can forget Admiral Hacket speaking through the com asking for help on missions am I the only one that misses that.

Hackett was fun. I like those missions as it gave a good start to the story. The level design and such was pretty boring though But at least it was set up good.

There's no canon in Mass Effect
The Default Shepard in ME2 is meant for players that never played ME1 and removes most characters so that new players don't get confused (also the reason why Default Shepard didn't do any sidequests or romance anyone)

These weren't the results I was expecting

So, let me get this straight, most people think ME2 is BioWare's best game yet ?

i like ME2 and Kotor almost the same. its hard to pick one or the other for me. KOTOR was my first rpg and i really like it. but i soon found out that all rpgs are not as good as KOTOR. now i really like action rpgs and most games have rpg eliments and i realy like that.

I always considered myself as a 'hardcore' cRPG gamer, but I never really liked KotOR 1. Silly and obvious 'plot twist', poor fight mechanics.

I voted for ME2, probably only because of Tali. And Boo.

KOTOR 2 was WAY better than KOTOR 1, even though it didn;t have that unforgettable twist at the end.

 You're all crazy! The answer is ME1: the game that SWKOTOR AND ME2 wished they could be but never were.

ME2 is like a television miniseries compared to ME1's big screen box office production. Need I say more?
OK, I will: SWKOTOR was unbeatable, except for the boring turn-based gameplay. ME1 has better gameplay, better equipment, better characters, better story, better better better....

Thats a "default" path, its not canon. Theres no canon in ME unlike kotor.
