I purchased the DAOA Retail Disc for ps3.

I installed the patch provided in the disc as instructed. The patch was installed successful.

(I also tried to install the patch from internet instead the disc and it also was installed without problems)

It doesn't matter, from one method or other the patch is allways installed, the problem appears in the next step.

Following the instructions is:

After the patch has finished installing, select "Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening" to install the game data for the expansion. After the game data for DAOA has installed you can launch the game

But, there isn't any install option. When i select "Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening" the console give me the following message.

This game requires DAO game data, eject this disc and insert DAO disc

I also checked the customer support. and it only says:

To play Dragon Age: Origins Awakening, you will need to launch the Dragon Age: Origins base game and select the Other Campaigns option.

Such option didn't appeared when i inserted my DAO disc.

Of course, i have the DA game installed, and i have quite free space on my HD

So...what's happening?

I encountered the same identical problem, I wrote EA more than once but they never answered me and it's been two weeks now.

What I read somewhere is that the issue (in my case) is given from the fact that I ordered DAO from UK while I got Awakening from the US and it appears that the two discs are somehow incompatible.

Now, other then buying again one of the two discs, is anyone aware of a solution that will let me play to Awakening?

Thanks,

Alex

Alex the discs and even DLC are region coded so one will not work with info from the other. Perhaps you can find someone in the reverse situation otherwise it's looking like you need to sell Awakening and get a disc or download from the UK region since the Origins info is needed.

Hi guys. I would like to know this about awakening:

1- My DA:O its from Hong Kong (disc are 3). Its says on the back of the cover that supported HD video output: NTSC 720p. So that means the disc its NTSC. I want to know if i need a Awakening also from Hong Kong area3, or can i get a copy from another Asia country thats also area3 (NTSC) or can i get the Usa version NTSC? I want to know in which of this situations i can get compatibility from.

Thanks.

thanks for your reply truth74646, i unfortunately realized too late that the two were not compatible... So you think that if I dload it from the italian PSN (which should be in the same region as UK) it will work?

If it wont, I'll simply waive Awakening goodbye and sell it. The italian store is the only one I'm allowed to DL from and frankly, no matter how much I loved the DAO, I dont have time to keep up with all those meaningless obstacles just to play a game...

In the end I paid 50 Euro (while the DLC costs 40) just to have a disc I cant even use and what pisses me off is that EA doesnt even have the decency to answer me, I was expecting a bit more from them...

Yeah if the italian PSN is the same region as your Origins disc then they should work.

Difre keep the regions the same or else you end up in the same situation as Alex.

Yep - I've just had the exact same problem. This business of no disc release in PAL territories is just bull@#$%.
(I'm pretty bloody annoyed, if you can't tell.)

The country doesn't matter, what matters is the region. So if you have Region 3 DA:O get region 3 Awakening.

Be warned: the Awakening patch causes freezing and lag issues on both DA:O and Awakening that rendered the game unplayable to me. (I would not buy if I were you and wait until there is a patch)
