i want to make a campaign from scratch but i realise this is wayyyyy too ambitious for a first mod. what im wondering is if i, say make the charicters for it now how do i save them in a format where i can put them into my new campaign when its done but still use them now? or do i have to start again next time? thanks

it's only size that define how ambitious a module is. A campaign can be a single small area with a few characters or a whole world.

So just start by making a module and keep adding what you can and it will grow eventually. It's a good habit to be organized and have two modules one which is a test and experiment module and another which contain the final resources.

you can also choose to join a existing team and focus on a certain aspect of mooding and be a part of a larger project then you would beable to pull off yourself.

thanks for the reply. i might consider joining a team, but i would be worried about letting them down. i think will make a tiny module for now and add in new things as i go. do modules appear as new campaigns? how do i get this module to appear in the 'other campaigns' section? thanks in advance.

edit: i have got it to appear in the 'other campaign' but it keeps coming up with unable to load. how far do i need to go before it will load? i have made the module, put in a start level, start waypoint and a charicter generation script. what else do i need to do before it should work? also i would realy appreciate it if someone could explain the fine details of scripting cus thats the one bit that makes no sense to me. thanks

you need a starting area and a start waypoint and it setup correctly in the module properties. you don't even need a chargen for it to load.

scripting is C more or less. so any C tutorial will give you the basics. ontop of that you need to understand the event system and it's partially described in the wiki. there isn't a script generator yet but who knows what the future holds.

you don't need to worry about letting people down, they are useally glad for any help, you work for free so whatever you create that they can use is one step in the right direction. no one can really demand anything. RL is a **** and it's common that teams has members that comes and goes.

do you have to export the modules afterwards to be able to play them? because they all keep saying 'unable to load'
