So, where is the cabal?
I went through the whole werewolf thing, and never came across the mages anywhere.
Does anyone know where I can find them?

Yea..I would like to know that as well, I went through the forest twice top to bottom...no one is there.

The madman? The one with the tree trunk? Because if so, this quest is glitched. I went through there the first time for the tree quest, later I went through again and wiped out some bandits/cabal(?) that had taken up living there.
Still have the quest in my log though.

I finally got it.
After killing the bandits, the maleficars spawns to the north, where the gravestone is.
I have no clue what the two have to do with each other.

They will be there by the hermit AFTER you get the quest and after the piece of armor has been won in that alcove.

Actually, and this is according to the strategy guide, you just have to clear out the ogres and such in the place with the gravestone, leave the area, and then come back to find the cabal. This is what I did anyway, and I did it before even seeing the old hermit.

I've never had them there while the gravestone was still sparkly, but I admit I don't run in out of the area everytime I kill something.
