I guess the April Fools Joke is that this costs 2.99...

I'll give you an "lol" for effort Bioware folks but no i won't give you 2.99 for this, I absolutely love your game and the world you've created, i've been very happy to support your efforts by buying DA:O and Even Pre Ordering Awakenings and i thought it was wonderful content and money well spent.

But this just strikes me as a Nickle and Dime Tactic and i'm actually kind of let down to see it.

I wish you much success in the future Bioware folks and I thank you for going out of your way to give all of us a way to celebrate Aprils Fools, but i think i'll be sitting this celebration out.

Cheers though! I look forward to more great DLC in the future!

The thing about DLC is that nobody is forcing anyone to buy it - it is optional content that adds to the game in some way. If you don't like it, don't buy it - simple!

I don't get why people seem to think additional content should be free. Bioware developers don't work for nothing. If you want free then either support modders or do your own modding. As for me - I'd pay $3 for a chocolate Easter egg, eat it, enjoy it, and a few minutes later it'd be just a memory. So paying $3 for a pack that adds a bit more fun to a game I already have fun with is a no-brainer.

The only problem I have with this Feastday DLC is that it should be clearly stated that patch 1.03 is required in order to run it. I bought more Bioware points so I could get this DLC and if the server had not been having problems with the link I would have bought the DLC before I knew that 1.03 was required. Since it can't run on 1.02a its not able to be used by me.

No. The point is EA/BW could have spent the same amount of time fixing all the bugs in the game as they did making this crap. By buying this DLC all you are saying is thank you EA/BW for your terrible customer support. Thank you EA/BW for not even bothering to fix any of the bugs in the original game after six months since release. Thank you EA/BW for not giving a **** about us or the game.

Seriously, what kind of an idiot would pay money for this crap?

Seriously, what kind of developer would even bother creating a fun little interlude for others to enjoy given the amount of flack they get for everything they do?

You are making a lot of assumptions here. We don't know if the developer(s) of this DLC are part of the bug fixing team or whether it caused anyone to take time away from creating patches, DA2, or new extensions. Spit venom all you like, the fact remains that some people are happy to purchase this DLC. It's called having fun!
Purchasing it is not saying anything more than that.

As for what kind of idiot would pay money for this? Me! Except I can't play it because I can't run the game with the 1.03 patch. Is that annoying? Yes - but I'm happy to keep bug issues to the tech forums where they belong and not add to the demotivating diatribes that infest these forums.

No thank you. I won't be buying this. Because:

a) I don't wish to inflict the 1.03 patch on my game/computer

B) I'll not buy extra points because there is a minimum 'must purchase', and I'm not playing this game of 'having to purchase more than necessary', and then having the leftover points just sit there while my money is safely in someone else's pocket. Out comes the next DLC, and it will be slightly more than the leftover points. So I need to buy more, getting stuck with more leftover points. No thanks.

c) I am completely underwhelmed by all the DLC so far, and I'm not paying a red copper for just items. Ever. That goes for any game, not only Bioware games.

d) I've not bought any DLC other than WK, and it will stay that way for me. I only needed that one wake-up call. That goes for me, personally, anyone who bought the other DLC and enjoys them, more power to you - I'm happy for ya.

However, Happy April to you too Bioware. Spring is around the corner. Finally.

1) There's a separate team working on the DLC. 2) There's a seprate QA team working on fisxing bugs and reporting them as well. 3) Bioware is not the small company it was 15 years ago; they are in fact a somewhat medium to big company, having more than 300 employees. As such the devs. working on this DLC are not working on fixing the bugs; a different team is doing this.

And this DLC is a bit of fun, not to be taken too seriously ;)

I paid for the Feastday Combo off the website an hour ago and it still does not show up as available for download ingame on the PC. It does show that I purchased it on the website transaction history. What gives? It shows up ingame as available to purchase. Are they trying to dupe us into paying for it twice? PT Barnum all over again.

These dlc is as lame as Warden Keep. Warden Keep seemed promising, but oh my, what an epic failure of fail! 30 minutes extra hack-n-slash with pushy background info. Well.. meteroite sword was alright.. Superman! :D

Flack that they brought on themselves with: rushed out DLC and xpac; lack of bug fixes; DLC that looks like just a cash grab and is not worth it.

Given their lack of big fixes and poor quality control when they do perhaps the patch team needs more staff.

Yeah lets keep the negative feedback to a corner where no-one will see it. As for this DLC this is the nail in Bioware's coffin, they created a wonderful game and have essentially ruined all the goodwill that flowed from that with their actions since. It actually amazes me how much Bioware have shot themselves in the foot. How on earth can it be said that this DLC is remotely worth even $3?

I can't imagine Shale without her Uncrushable Pigeon.

And Leilana can play the lute finally! Awesome. :D

Maybe a little expensive compared to the other similarly-priced DLC (Warden's Keep, Ostagar etc), but whatever. It's still only 5 bucks.

Can't say that I'm all that interested in this particular bit of DLC, but anyone willing to give an Alistair voodoo doll to Morrigan gets points in my book.

$7 (WK) + $5 (RtO) + $5 (this) = $17.
No.

Aw, thanks!

To keep this on topic...the lute for Leliana sounds neat too, even though my current character doesn't really interact with her much.

Yep, one and the same, it beggars belief they are charging for it.

My husband got it free for his PS3 and when I saw it, I thought how boring is this, I wouldn't download it even if it was free just my opion folks don't get angry I was expecting more than just hearing the party members say 'thank you' in such a bored tone of voice.

Hmm..isn't the fact that it was released in the past for free a somewhat important piece of information?

I don't know. If you love this stuff, good for you. I personally don't find it worth the price and. more importantly, not in line with the reason why I play games in the first place. This might appeal to more casual gamers at a different stage in life.

If any DLC needs to be compared to Bethesdas' Horse Armour it'd be the Mass Effect Reskin Packs.

This... I don't know what this is. This nickel and dime DLC bullsh!t has to stop, Bioware. Please. I'll buy your half-assed, unfinished, buggy expansion packs but 3 dollars for some perfunctory in game gifts and/or character reskins in ME2? What the hell has gotten in to you?

I totally agree... unfortunately I bought this crap because I foolishly thought it would at least bring something new to the game, maybe some dialogue they might have recorded while making Awakening or something, but this... this is just garbage... it's a disgrace they're charging for this... and I've actually had enough now with BioWare... they're really starting to ****** me off with their recent policy for both DAO and ME2... RtO was bad enough, but at least we got some new and real content, even though it was so damn short, but come on, charging for some Skins on ME2 and now this... this is a kick in the nuts to any loyal fan I'd say! There used to be a time when stuff like this was given away for free to the fans and then nobody would have reason to complain, if that would've been free, fine, I would've even been grateful, but now I just feel ripped off... I guess this was the last DLC I bought (unless they start adding some actual content to the game, but I certainly won't buy it just on a hunch again...) and if they don't change their policy I might seriously consider not getting either ME3 or DA2!

Elps wrote...

I don't get why people seem to think additional content should be free. Bioware developers don't work for nothing.

As I said, in pre-DLC times this might've been a gift to the community, if they'd have done anything like this at all and there are mods that add more content to the game than this and they are free, so if BioWare devs wanna earn their money, maybe they should produce content that is better than the average mod. This is not. Seriously, this could have actually been done as a mod, since it doesn't really add anything new to the game...

Same here.  PC and NO problems with 1.03.  Matter a fact, if you don't have 1.03 installed, you won't be able to play Awakening.  So I guess all of you that don't have 1.03 installed are also NOT playing the Awakening Expansion.  Shame really as Awakening is actually good fun and enjoyed 40+ hours of game play.  Yeah I'm the type that checks out every square inch and takes my time to fully enjoy the game as it should be!

Good Luck!Image IPB

Something no one is mentioning is that through this DLC, you have the opportunity to see what a serious negative effect on you characters does to their part of the team. On the flip side of that coin, you can boost all of your characters to 100% and see ALL of the bonus's they receive for doing so! I never knew any of this existed until now. Sure, I would see a tiddbit here and there, but this DLC really brings each of the characters to their full gaming potential! I just sat back and watched how all of these special awards popped up for each character and the different levels for each as well.

Did no one else see the importance of this?
