No, what I read in the official rules is that if you lose, you keep your tokens.



The winner of the auction is the only one who loses tokens.

I reckon you should lose your tokens if you make an unsuccessful bid, that way it adds a level of risk to the auction and makes it that much more exiting.

The way it is now everyone is just going to throw all of their tokens at the major prizes and whoever managed to collect the most tokens wins, however if you lose the tokens everytime you make an unsuccessful bid it adds a level of risk and forces people to think wisely about how they use their tokens.

Do they risk all of their tokens on the small chance to win a computer or should they hold out and go for something of a little less value but has a better chance to win?

If you bid, but do not win, you keep your tokens.

You never "lose" your tokens, you can only use them if you actually win.
