Today i noticed an new small dlc that sounds amusing, i have got a ps3 an xbox 360, and my copy of dragon age is on xbox, yet these feastday packs are free on psn yet on xbox live your charged 160 points each or 200 and something for the combo. How is this fair? especially since they are such tiny dlc packs that add a little more amusement to your game. Has anybody else noticed this?

I believe they gave it free to PS3 users like a month ago to apologize for having to wait so long for RTO.

Still no fair, its not the xbox players fault why it took bioware so long to release it on ps3, why should we get charged because it took them extra time on ps3. Fair enough it took just over a month from the xbox RTO release, but really 160 points each for such minor dlc

This thread has some interesting ideas on DLC and how it is easily abused by companies. It isn't specific to The Feast DLC but just general coverage.

Just posted these same sentiments in the official feastday thread. Seems utterly ridiculous to charge on one platform and not on another, especially given so little information about this DLC.

I'd suggest it's because PS3 users have gotten shafted in every other respect in regards to this game.

This is quite common in relation to 360 and PS3 anyway.  Microsoft does not like having free dlc on the marketplace.  While I think Sony charges for free DLC based on the size.  There are quite a few examples fo DLC being free on PS3 while not free on the 360.  Also applies to PC and 360 comparisons (Left 4 Dead crash course was free on PC and not on 360).  Do not know about this one though, is it free on PC?

True, not alot of information on what exactly they do, an also microsoft points don't actually convert properly into real money, not being funny but i'm not using 4 pounds worth of points on such a small dlc pack thats adds a little extra humour, especially when xbox live is expensive anyway.

This one cost the same on the 360 and on PC. 160 for either pack, 240 for both.

The knowledge of this being free on the PS3 kinda demotivates me from purchasing it on the 360...

Yes, that explains it then. From Victor Watcher:

Feastday Gift and Prank DLC items are now available for purchase on the PlayStation Network Store for $1.99, XBox Live Marketplace for 160 points and for PC for 160 BioWare Points, except for PS3 owners in Europe, where an error occurred resulting in the items being released for free earlier this month – so these items will remain free in that region.

Its not free for PS3 owners world-wide, only in the UK because a mistake was made a few weeks ago. The rest of us PS3 owners have to pay just like anyone else. Personally, I'm okay with that - I think its well worth three bucks for the entertainment my fellow We <3 Alistairites have expressed from this pack. If you don't feel the same way, there's no pressure to buy. I'm really looking forward to it though.

Yeah, I created that thread before I'd seen anything about the Feastday bs. It's almost like EA/Bioware were 100% in agreement with my notions, and they released this hilariously exploitative DLC just to make everyone who disagreed with me look like an idiot. I'm gonna see if a doctor can help me stop laughing.

I too kinda resent having to pay whilst PS3 owners don't.

I would have bought it as well, Bioware - looks like a fun little asset, but it loses its appeal knowing that some people don't have to pay for it.

Fairness - be it between regions (America and, well... apparently everywhere else) or console preference, is all that I ask for. It can't be that hard, can it? (Fanbois aside)

A few gifts and pranks? I am sure none of you will die if you don't purchase the content. Just don't purchase the content, still at least Bioware gave us free content worth over £10 with copies of Dragon age.

So just don't buy this content.
