I would say the Sentinel is my favorite class but I'm unsure about my build this is my "main" Shepard in a sense:


Throw Field

Warp (3)

Power Armor 

Area Overload

Cryo Blast (2)

Raider

Heavy Reave

I have played and beat the game on insanity with this build but I feel I can do something better ... any suggestions?

There's no point to getting Heavy Reave and Warp, they are too similar. If you want Reave get the area version and ditch Warp. If you want Warp forget the bonus power completely or get Energy Drain to replace Overload.



I also suggest taking Guardian over Raider since reduced cooldowns are better than more damage. Assault Armor is also very nice, but Power Armor is fine if you play a less aggressive Sentinel.

It's also worth it either to only use 1 point on cryo blast, or max it out to full cryo (area), but spending 3 on it is ok if you can't use the points on anything more useful

That's fine, but you do have more points than you should on this build as well. Without using any bugs you will only have 1 point to put into Cryo Blast.



With that build you should bring Jacob and Miranda on every mission you can. Jacob for Pull Field and Squad Inferno Ammo and Miranda for Warp and squad buffs. Generally you want to strip defenses with Reave/Overload followed by a Pull>Warp.

I prefer for a caster sentinel:

Guardian

Power armour

Heavy warp

Throw field

Energy Drain (6 points)

Overload (3 points)

Cryo blast (1 point)



The only trouble with this build is the waste of points in overload to get cryo, which prevents maxing ED.

You still have more than the available 51 points. If you are going to use a glitch just max everything out.

I'd ditch Reave all together, and nab Heavy or Area Warp... your choice.

Take an ammo power for your bonus. The Sentinel does a lot of shooting still, especially early in the game, and AP or Warp ammo will help you out significantly.

i think theres only one way to invest the 51 points for a sentinel....



throw - 10

warp - 10

overload - 1

power armor - 10

class spec - 10

bonus ammo power - 10



which ever evolution you take should be up to your own personal preferences. i pass on cryo blast because i have throw. i really dont think theres a better way to distribute the points. your "the jack of all trades" and this build gives you a jack for every trade...er whatever.

The Sentinel is great because it is excellent against nearly everything. warp takes out barriers and armor. overload gets rid of shields and fries synthetics. then, if you have to rely on your SMG, Tungsten makes sure you do decent damage against the enemies armor and health in addition to the SMG's advantage against shields and barriers.
