Heard that singularity can stop enemies from doing anything even with protection but it's not working.  Do I have to evolve it or something?

Should work even with a single point of singularity. The only enemies it doesn't work on are the YMIR mechs, geth primes when they still have their armor on, and for some reason I never got it to work on varren. Everyone else was no problem.

Yeah it should work on just about everything from the get go. As for varren it cann work on them but for some reason they sometimes just sort of slide through it. It has to be perfect to work on varren but everything else is just fine.

In my experience four-legged enemies can´t be stopped by singularity when protection is still on.

In my experience, some enemies can still shoot while held by a singularity, most notably Harbinger.

Your singularity needs to land directly on the target. Easier to accomplish when they are out of cover.

The stagger effect lasts only 2~3 seconds but its useful enough. Stops 1)Charging Krogan 2)Harbringer's bolt spamming. Strangely, Krogan seem to be stunned for a longer time. I could face those krogan in Okeer's mission without taking cover just by spamming singularity on them.

And yeah, doesn't work on YMIR and Geth Primes. not sure about varren

It's not really as good as Drone. Singularity continually staggers enemies who are very close, and does a slight damage over time. In a few situations it can even "stagger-lock" several enemies, but Singularity usually doesn't last very long, and especially against powerful enemies it fades extremely quickly (Scions etc.) For some targets it's pretty easy to avoid/get free from, and Singularity is a pretty slow skill.

My theory on how Singularity works is that it's a small "unit" with very little health, but in the vicinity it continually spams pull even against protected foes, which deals a little bit of damage over time and also staggers a little unless it's killed quickly.

By the way, does anyone know if the staggerlock effect is improved with rank? I'm guessing Singularity's sphere health doesn't improve, but does the improved radius mean that the stagger has a wider range?

I think the stagger range is only as big as the black ball in the animation. if they are only within the blue area, they don't get staggered... that's why direct hits are needed.

I've seen several times that several foes can be targeted if close enough, so it doesn't need to be a direct hit. That's why you can lay Singularity as a trap.

The drone doesnt work on geth hunters...
So all classes have some weak points.

Yeah, I've noticed they're distracted for a second or so and then they make a beeline for Shep :alien:
But then again, a couple of incinerates and they're easy pickings. And I always have at least 2 overloads available on my Geth missions, as I've found that the best Geth-killer squad includes Garrus with his sniper rifle and Zaeed with his vindicator... Haven't tried out Legion on insanity yet though so Garrus may get replaced.

Yes the stunlock does improve with rank. The effect works throughout the whole singularity so if you're singularity is 3m across you get a much wider area of stun. Also increased rank increases hold duration so you can stunlock enemies for longer.
