Sorry no can do. Right now playing Dragonage, yesterday played ME2, and will play WoW on monday (for sure other times are uncertain) As I stated before, I don't support anything. Or more correctly, I support both of them, as two groups making good games for me. Not the same type, true, but thats the beauty in the whole thing.
And don't see what's the point in hating blizzard just to love bioware. But I admit, it's amusing to watch. Carry on.

Warcraft 3 and, Warcraft 3 TFT may not be an rpg, but it sure as hell has an amazing and gripping story. I don't even like RTS, but for the story alone, it's one of my favorite games x')

It's worse than you think.....we have Blizzard fans spying on us. It's OK though by Sunday they should be starting their group therapy sessions where they get to reassure each other that Blizzard "totally rules" even though they will have been taken out by BioWare.

I would think that the OP would have already predetermined what the answer was going to be when they ask this type of question on a Mass Effect forum but the forum of BioWare the answers would mostly consist of BioWare fans.

Beceause with BG2 they were almost on par with Blizzard... But they wanted consol fast and easy buck and screwed their potential while chasing that rabbit.
I agree that consols are a double edged sword. I like them because they've contributed greatly to making video games a viable, popular form of entertainment, while PC games in their golden age was never more than a (large) niche market. But it's expensive to upgrade every year. Consols have taken care of that. Consols have brought games to the masses (good), but consols are simply underpowered pcs and games are not made to exceed their meager specs (bad).
Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. Ignoring the large consol market just so you can wear the "PC Elitist" badge is not good business. But as a PC gamer, I can't help but wonder how much better would the Mass Effect franchise have been if consols didn't exist. With everything else being equal, w/o consols, ME2 would likely push my quad core and 4870x2 card to its limits and I might have to drop down from my beloved 2560x1600 res...much the same way Morrowind made a fool of my then gaming rig.

You don't need to upgrade each year.
I still have my old computer (3 years) and it can run all newer games just fine. I only bought my new rig because 1) I had the money 2) I like max graphics.
I even have an older one with XP for BG2 and other older games that can't run on Vista/W7, and it can run all but the more heavy games such as Crysis, EU3, Farcry etc.
So... no, you don't need to upgrade each year. You only have to buy a PROPER rig to begin with, which doesn't necessarily have to cost a car or something. Just know what you're buying or bring someone with you who knows.
Anyway, I vote Black Isle Studios... just to be different
(yes, they're no more around, but they made the best RPG ever: Planescape: Torment)

Doesn't matter. It's over now and BioWare won a deffinitive victory. Now they just have to go start their group therapy sessions over at blizzard to reassure each other that their favorite company is still worth following. A very few might even snap out of their denial and abandon Blizzard in favor of the awesome games BioWare has to offer.
