I'm going to attempt to play as a Vanguard on Insanity and I want to know peoples opinions about making a good Vanguard build...
I played through the game once already and I can choose another power...
so I need some good builds
Thanks :)

Champion 10

Heavy Charge 10

Inferno Ammo 10

Rest is irrelevant. Though most people like to put 10 points to Squad Cryo Ammo (it is pretty awesome at times).

Don't invest in Shockwave except for sentimental or role-playing purposes. The general consensus is that it is useless

Incendiary Ammo: lvl 4 (10) > Inferno Ammo
Cryo Ammo: nothing
Charge: lvl 4 (10) > Heavy Charge
Shockwave: lvl 4 (10) > Improved Shockwave
Pull: lvl 4 (10) > Pull Field
Assault Mastery: lvl 4 (10) > Champion
Barrier/Slam/Reave: lvl 1 (1)

Barrier can be a lifesaver in many situations, you only need one point in it because it's main purpose on Insanity is to allow you to survive a few crucial seconds while you get to cover.

Slam is useful in that it not only allows you to mess with certain enemies without the need to aim in an arc (Pull), but also has a very short cooldown time (3 secs).

I don't exactly like Reave, but many people here worship it for being the best thing since sliced bread, so I thought I'd put it on there as well.

In my experience putting 10 points in basically all it's basic powers (sans Cryo Ammo) allows the Vanguard to be used to it's full potential, with Barrier being a failsafe in case you somehow mess things up. Slam can be a preferable alternative if you'd like to have another ranged attack, but might not fit into your playstyle. Same goes for Reave.

Check out the sticky at the top of the forum. :)

As for my build...

10 Inferno Ammo

10 Squad Cryo Ammo

10 Heavy Charge

10 Champion

10 Crippling Slam

The last one can be interchanged for a mix of points between Slam, Pull, and Shockwave if you want. It's an effective build that can handle any situation on Insanity with relative ease once you get a hang of the Vanguard.

This. I also stand by Squad Cryo, it's awesome.
