Heh. Not entirely true. Loghain is Alistair's Achilles heel. His weakness. It isn't a matter of what's best, it's a matter of a burning hatred for the man who robbed Alistair of the first "family" that accepted him for who he was. He is about as willing to put aside his hatred for Loghain as a human noble would for Howe, or a city elf for Vaughn.
I have been contemplating taking a City Elf warrior through and I was thinking of what excuse I could give her to spare Vaughn. I could only think of one, because she is determine for Alistair to win the throne, she is willing to set aside her hate in order to get Vaughn's support. But then Alistair insisting on killing Loghain would be a real slap in the face would it. She can forgive her hate but he can't forgive his...
