Maybe you find a forgotten colony of protheans who survived the reapers. Or perhaps you find a collector (who wasn't at the base) and actually find a reversal for his genetic variations.

anyway, who knows what'll be happened. it's fantasy world. anything could be happened. it's also interesting if thing would be happened really.
well, I mentioned before. In ME3, what if one of collector betray, turns to Shepard to help? you know, Legion is one of them to help. why not? it's more practical than extinction of Protheans.
what do you think?

actually, collector brought Prothean's DNA, alter it, and made monster to attack human. so original protheans were not monster like that. remember. they made Mass Relay over the galaxy first time, and also built Citadel as well. their ruins are found almost every where in galaxy. they were advanced. they were first race to deal with Mass effect energy. so they were not monster as you think. I don't why you guys misunderstand about it. Geth or Collector is very bad. as I said, they took protheans or human to test, change some DNA, made monsters. if you are confused with Protherians, well, it's different. it's collector's invented hovering monster like Colosso.

I think its Sovereign who explains in ME that it was the reapers that built the Citadel and the relays. However, Protheans built the conduit relay, which is was indeed a great feat.

A reformed Prothean squadmate would be very cool. We have legion, so why not?
Ah yes, "Protheans." The extinct race of tentacle faced geniuses supposedly totally and completely extinct. We have dismissed that claim.

dude you need to replay both games and actually pay attention to the conversations and take notes<_<
mass relays and the citadel built by reapers long before the protheans ever existed... and protheans weren't the first... sovergin says that the cycle has repeated more times than you can fathom
reapers use mass effect technology... they came long before the protheans as i stated above... infact the protheans obtained mass effect technology from the reapers
ok there are two factions of geth. heritics and geth... the geth that you fight in ME1 and in the small bits of ME2 are heritics... legion is part of the geth geth not the heritics... the geth faction of the geth are more peaceful than the heritics and are fighting against the reapers. the geth and heritics are, to a degree, fighting each other. as what they say "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" legion allies himself with sheperd because sheperd is fighitng the reapers

I think it'd be pretty interesting to have a Prothean team-mate, or at least run into one on your mission. The 'frozen in stasis' idea would seem much more feasible to me than having a hidden Prothean colony, since the reapers pretty much stripped the galaxy of life, wiping them out entirely, so there being one specially-chosen individual to be put in cryo would be more legit-sounding, I reckon. Anyone have any ideas what they look like yet..?
go back to ME1... go to ilos... look at the scenery... there are statues of protheans<_<
