Erm, sorry for the ignorance, but "harden?" What does that mean? (And I've played through the game more than once, with two of the romance things; I've never run into that term before, though.)

Ok, I had never seen Bella give anyone a kiss before.  The three dudes at the table watching has me in stitches.  XD

After her personal quest (works for Alistair too), you'll have an option in some dialogues to make them "hardened" (by life I imagine) - In Leliana's case, you must make her feel good about her old life and that the chantry was a waste of her talents. Then she'll join you with Isabella and Zev if you bring him along. If you just keep her as a goodie goodie, she'll not let you take Isabella on board and you need the cards game to learn Duelist. I think that a hardened Leliana also changes some reactions to neutral where she would usually disapprove, but I can't remember specifics. It's been a while.

And hardening Alistair is basically just telling him that his he should just accept the fact that everyone's out for themselves after his personal quest and then the next time he talks to you and has translated that into 'I should stand up for myself more' don't disagree. If you have any intention of making him King and not being the power behind the throne as Chancellor, it really is a good idea.

I love that too! =)
That's why I insist to those gamers that play it once and sell the game that they don't know what they're missing. I could only see a lot of the funny stuff with many playthroughs, different party combinations and different main char class with different choices in the dialogues.

I only found these after 5 full playthroughs, when I played my first couple of mages.

Huh? When I did it in my playthrough, he was like "wait...you mean...you and her...and I'm like...awake"? And then he decides that he is going to go jump in the ocean, hoping it's a very COLD ocean.

I had Alistair in my party for that convo between leliana and Morrigan, and he interrupted and said something like "oh,. hey, I don't mind, keep oogling" or something. The tone of his voice suggesting he was probably salivating.

Our dear ex-templar has quite the libido. He simply has been trained through the Chantry to supress it somewhat, and given his romanticism, he would rather be banging someone who he was emotionally intimate with.

It sure as hell doesn't stop him from DREAMING about all sorts of things, or his head nearly exploding when confronted with such overload. And when you harden him and get him to agree, his reactions are quite funny. There really is a naughty boy under all that plate.

Strange, I never saw him comment on Leliana oogling Morrigan, or him saying he'll need to jump in the ocean when Leliana & I get to know Isabela better.

I kind of liked the part where you do the threesome with him at the Pearl and afterwards Isabella will ask to borrow him from time to time and of course I have to respond with, "this will never happen again" and Alistair saying something about what a shame lol. It was a little amusing, only reason I did do it was to see what Alistair's reaction would be lol. I found out :)

LOL she has a funny line if you tell her "its up to Alistair" about men's obsessions (one of which is wet frocks) which Alistair repeats in a Homer's drool tone of voice.

He only makes the comment about jumping in the water when the PC is propositioning Isabela and he's in a relationship with her. Fun fact! He'll override Leliana there, even if he's only interested and she's in love.

Well, I still like Alistair's tent proposition, and it doesn't sound like he feels nothing in his lower region. He's quite passionate about it. The "If I'm around you I feel like my head will explode" is not what someone who dislikes the idea of sex would say. I think.

Besides, if Morri would cover up her breast a bit more, Leliana's eyes might not be drawn all the time. To measure dress-sizes, of course.

I don't like Ali's proposition but I realize I'm in a minority there. However, he most definitely is a young, healthy man when it comes to things like that. I'm not sure why anyone would get the impression that Ali doesn't like sex.

*sigh* And I feel the need to defend Alistair again. Silliness! It's just interesting how so many young guys think that Alistair was written as some sort of asexual prude. He has principals and sees sex as something special, but he's most definitely NOT uninterested.

Maybe if you only play males you just have no idea about that part of Alistair?

I suppose that would be it.  You do learn he's a virgin, but that's not the same as not being interested in sex.  And he does say he thinks about it to both a male or a female.  So /shrug.  I think it's more some people don't like Ali so will find any type of attack they can, no matter how ludicrous.

My boyfriend was quite...taken aback when he finally played a female PC. He definitely thought Alistair was a total prude and didn't realize that he will start flirting from the very first conversation you have with him (and, if your'e in a relationship with him at the end of the game, in the last exchange you have he's already angling for some post-celebration sexin').

Why won't Zevran do a foursome with you, Isabela, and Alistair? Zevran's bisexual and Alistair isn't so shouldn't HE be the one who refuses to do it? Or is Zevran thinking about Alistair's comfort here? I can get why he won't make it a five-some 'because it's getting crowded' but he's fine if Leliana's involved instead of Alistair.

Zevran knows Isabela and perhaps realises that Alistair the ex-virgen will be the real centre of attention.  Or perhaps he's just being nice and allowing the novices some space to gain experience.

Dragon Age - The Best Party (16) - Love is in the Air Posted Image
"Ah, the romance. With all the darkspawn threat around the world and all that people think about is romance, even some dangerous one!"

On a personal note, I'm with Sten in what he says to him. And if he was Tarzan, a real monkey, all you Janes would fall for him all the same and he wouldn't need to ask some monkey-Wynne or Leliana for advice! I love Alistair. He's fun, sweet, caring, tender, compromising, best-friend type, good listener, poetic and all, but in RL, I don't think most girls like that. Actually, I can guarantee it as I can relate to that. (the hopelessly romantic in my sig isn't a joke). I bet he's a Pisces!

Gladly, most girls does not mean all the girls. But the biggest chance is that he would actually be ... gay... oops, sorry. And not because of those characteristics I listed. Only because of the environment he grew up at, with all those Templars. Plus his real love was Duncan! I'd say in RL, Sten would be much more successful with the ladies, if they survived his ackward mating ritual! As Zevran would too.

I don't think this is true actually. Most girls would always like guys like Alistair far more than guys like Zevran or Sten - most girls with their heads on straight, any way. There is a certain appeal to the whole deep, dark, suave and mysterious guy but the long term relationship potential? No way.

To wander into Joss Whedon land, it's a bit like the whole Angel/Xander argument in Buffy. Yup, Angel is yummy, but he's dead and has issues, and it's all pain and ickiness and no going to the beach. Xander will love you forever and crack jokes - even if you're a demon.

What??  You must know some weird girls.  :P

This is my husband to a tee, minus the poetic, and I can assure you that he's the one I was looking for my whole life and didn't think existed.  And I bet many other women would say the same.  I mean, there's a reason that Alistair has so many fangirls.  It is male players who seem to have more of a problem with his character.  Personally I put that down to jealousy.  LOL

Ah, come on.  No need to sexualize the fact that an orphan finds a father figure and reveres him, especially since he saved him from what Alistair characterizes as a hopeless fate.  Alistair even knows about the down sides of being a Warden and still considers it salvation compared to a life in the Chantry.

I know they're all fiction and stuff but... not always it ends like in this story. Sometimes it's too late to realize it and a great chance is gone for good. Not sure why but "bad boys" or Cafajestes as we call them are much more successful with girls. At least until they start wanting "good love" or some respect. Maybe it's the challenge, maybe it's nature. And the same applies to guys too, in most cases.

Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!

Sometimes all they want is something else too. I mean, look at Ronaldo, 3 times the best football player of the world. He's ugly as hell and used to date real top models. He was even married for some 3 months with one of the most beautiful girl here, a triathlon athlete and model and tv show hostess, after a very pompous ceremony at the Chantilly Palace in France. She got over 15 million in the break up! Now, if he hadn't over 100 million bucks in his account and was a worldwide celebrity...

I think the same about Madonna and Jesus Luz... Sure, it maybe love, it maybe lust, but I really wanted to see them all in the opposite side of the board. Might still happen but chances are that the moves in this game would be very different!

Hmmm, THIS is a matter of personal taste.  I think MOST girls would like the utter devotion of Zevran as opposed to someone who would dump them for duty.

Hah, I'm being facetious here, obviously.  But you really can't speak for most women -- just yourself.

Edit: I'm know I'm going to be slammed for writing this, and I want to make it VERY clear I understand why Alistair breaks up with the Warden.  I guess I'm just telling Miri1984 that Zevran ends up just as loyal and faithful and in the relationship for the long haul.

Sten? He's not interested in humans, elves, or dwarves, so it doesn't matter!

Who says male players have any problems with Alistair? The guy had me fall for him with my female Cousland.
