Fallout 3 DLC is a perfect example of how DLC should be done for a singleplayer-only game. About every couple months they released good sized DLC. DLC that lasts you a lot more than an hour. Even Operation Anchorage took me a while and that's their shortest and worst DLC (although I still liked it). All their DLC was fairly lengthy and had a lot of content and substance to them. I gladly payed money for them because they were worth every penny. I don't care about paying for DLC as long as it's worth it. I would rather have substantial DLC every few months that costs money, than free DLC every few weeks that I can beat over lunch.

Please BioWare, I want more ME2 as much as the next guy, but I would much rather have fewer big DLC than lots of small DLC.

I agree. I think BW is also missing the point with the new dlc weapons. I'd rather get them as an end reward in a dlc mission then random downloads. A random gun or armor isn't gonna bring me back into the game if I've done everything in the vanilla game.  Give me a mission where I can both use it in the mission  and afterwards.  I wasn't crazy about Operation Alaska, but at least you got some decent loot at the end of it all.

Agreed. I spent over 10 hours on Point Lookout. That is definitely worth $10.

I certainly wouldn’t mind if they followed Bethesda with a few downloads like Fallout 3, maybe even one or two like Shivering Isles was for Oblivion.

What so you want them to retcon the ending of there story, the ruin the lore of there game by making easter eggs "official DLC" and other DLC's that add pointless FPS action that otherwise don't really have anything to do with the story. Also adding in pointless bullet spurge enemies?

Sorry but Bethsofts FO3 DLC are FAR from good.

That's not the point, dude. The OP's intent is to ask for more substance and time to Bioware's DLCs than just a new weapon, 2-3 minute missions, and a new squad member with a loyalty subquest. So, he (or she) proposes that Bioware look to Bethesda's model (which they found out after experimenting with Oblivon DLCs) because they contain more substance to them.

Didn't take long for the Bethesda haters to step in. I'm afraid Liberty Prime is going to have to destroy you dirty godless commies.
As much as I love ME2, I was rather unimpressed with the Firewalker DLC (yes I know it was free), so I hope the next DLC sets are a bit more interesting. I would rather have something bigger than what we have seen so far.

Eh I don't totally agree. There should definitely be major missions like that but there should be new armor/weapons/appearances added in between them.

I was addicted to fallout 3 about a year ago when it was about winter time. And I was happy as could be with the every other month DLC packages.

I can't really remember though.. was Broken Steel the same amount of $ as the other DLC's? Even if it wasn't I don't remember it being way more than the others. Broken steel was pretty substantial -- raising level cap and even letting you continue past the main story (This was really needed though).

But yes I do agree, DLC's with more bang for your buck would be most appreciated. Only time will tell.

AGREE 100%... Oblivion had Shivering isles and knights of the nine, it seems as though bethesda has a good track record for DLC..

Yup. They're all $10 (800 MS points) individually when they first released.

Fallout 3 was by far the best recent game about dlcs. I loved all of them and of Bioware did the same thing than i would be so happy

The only problem with Fallout's dlc was that it was buggy as hell. Plus they should have released the best ones last, not end their streak with Mothership Zeta.

The best fallout dlc was point lookout and Broken Steel.

If anything, Mass Effect needs a Dragon Age Awaking esque dlc, something that fills the gap between Mass Effect 2 and 3.

alright.. obviously the horse armor was stupid, but look at the additional quest content, it was awesome.. The Wizard Tower, Mehrunes Razor, Thieves Den... a whole whack of DLC that wast too pricey..

Its seems to me that Bioware DLC is much more difficult to produce than Fallout DLC. They need quality voice acting, writing, lots of animations, cinematic, more detailed environments, and more thought out level design. All that has to be at a reasonable file size. If you're going to expect the same production value Bioware usually puts in their games, then expect that kind of DLC to take a while to make.

Well it's more of a compliment to BioWare honestly.

With a game like Mass Effect 2 and with it having a set ending players want and crave more out of the game, and you can't blame them / us.. the game is awesome! We just want more content, more more more.

Haven't played Fallout, but I concur, fewer - larger DLCs sure beats lots of small ones.

They weren't that pricey. But, other than Mehrunes Razor, most were just glorified houses and Beth knew it.

They never repeated that in Fallout 3.

What I really want DLC-wise is more like 'Bring Down The Sky' - that was the best DLC I've ever seen.
