Well it's assumed that if I can romance her, I can get to know her.

Wooing is, perhaps not the intent. In which case it makes alot more sense in your analogy.javierabegazo wrote...

I probably won't be getting her anyway, I think DLC is a load of crap, paying for stuff that should have been in the game already

More like content that might never have been created or finished. DLC is the future of gaming, deal with it.

Just because it's "the future of gaming" doesn't mean it's not a load of crap

Blizzard taught us, if you can't release a full game, then release an expansion that is as good as the first full game, in that way people won't complain.
DLC is a joke, because they ask more money for a FEW more things that could have been added by pushing the release date a little...
PS: DLC may be the future of gaming, but I don't see myself playing a lot in the near future, there are much more important things to do.

I remember when DLC was called "Expansions" lol
DLC shouldn't mean, adding only a few extra things, maybe a character, a few missions for a hover vehicle, or some crappy new costumes.
There are some good examples of expansions. Half-life: Opposing Force, Half-Life: Blue shift, Dawn of War: Winter Assault, Fear: Perseus Mandate, Fallout 3: operation anchorage, etc, etc etc.
Yeah those usually cost close to a new game, but i'd rather pay $60aud , for an extra 5-6 hours of meaningful gameplay, than $5aud on an hours worth of crap

Indeed. Like 3D-cinema.
A useless gimmick tacked on as a desperate failsafe to counter piracy.
