I'm really enjoying the game. The graphics and plot really let you get involved. BUT this patch is really starting to irritate me. I've done everything on the first post and far as the window updates and patching 1.10a or whatever. I finally gave up lastnight and reinstalled the entire game (thank god for the save char option). I then put back 1.10a and everything seemed to work fine. Well today I was not so lucky and I'm back to square one of not knowing wtf to do. I am running Windows Vista and my play button does not friggen work. Please send help.

Play button doesn't work after patch. I'll probably just reinstall the stupid thing again and play without their so called patch and wait for a new one that works properly. Hopefully in the near future.

Macks69 ive been having a similar problem but when i hit play it goes to the next screen that says "Dragon Age" but then it freezes and then crashes my computer. I've done all the fixes and checked for viruses and uninstalled and reinstalled still doesn't work i've successfully played both before and after the patch and this problem came out of no where help. oh and i'm using impulse fail

the game cannot launch because of a misconfiguration. Please

reinstall your game and try again.



dont know if this is because of safe mode or something that might be important. regardless i have

reinstalled multiple times with this same result



Help i'm going crazy not playing

@ Macks, did you install the VC++ fix from page 1 of this thread?



@Balticon, which version of the game are you running? DVD or Download? if Download, from where?

Well, the problem can be caused by a number of things, but try this post:

If the first fix doesn't work for you then go to the second page.  I walk another person through trouble shooting, and if you follow those steps it should work for you.

I purchased the D2D digital version of the game, downloaded it and played without a problem. Installed the patch and worked for about a day before it got wonky and made the play/configure button "un-pressable." Followed the instructions at the beginning of the thread (as much as I could without the DVD) and still couldn't get it to work.



In the end, I reinstalled and didn't apply the patch. I'll have to wait till another patch is put out I suppose. Loving the game otherwise.

Download the EADM:

Install

it and then run it. Click the login tab and then log in to your

EA account. Should be the same account you use to login here. Next

click the activation tab. Activate your copy using the Key provided to

you by Direct 2 Drive. Next goto downloads and it should show up as

already downloaded with the option to play.

I found my DirectX version and game version in the configuration utility. I have DirectX 10.0 and DAO 1.01. Do I need to uninstall DirectX10 and download 9.0? Does any version of DirectX work that is later than 9.0 or does it have to be 9.0?

I installed the new patch and now my game will play but when i try to leave an area map it wont load i need help

yeah but i uninstalled it, and i reinstalled the game too. now i cant even start a new game its says unable to load module

Fix for strange issues with my game such as scripts not firing or party interactions not working and “Module will not load”



This is often caused by the Dragon Age Toolset. If you have the toolset installed and you’ve messed around with it (including beta versions), the toolset may be overriding the scripting of the single player experience. The fix:



1) Load toolset, goto tool > export > Empty Export Directories



2) FIND:

Windows XP: My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\modules

Windows Vista: Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\modules

*Delete the single player folder*



3) FIND:

Windows XP: My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override

Windows Vista: Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override

*Delete everything in this folder*
