I've had the same problem as everyone else but I can't download vcredist_x86.exe, the download link keeps sending me to a page that can't be found. I've tried downloading it through Firefox and Internet Explorer, neither work. I've tried the other methods listed by the first poster, like replacing the .dll file and all that, still nothing working.

I really can't see why the microsoft site isn't working for me... :(

I have MS XP Home Edition. And yes, my problem started when I logged into DAO yesterday. But, now, no game will work. The graphics are totally a mess, and I crash.

That's a start but I'm gonna need the full DXDiag report to see everything needed to troubleshoot.

Ok, first try installing the latest beta drivers for your Video card, which can be found here:

The troubleshooter said to put the acceleration all the way to the left and reboot. I did that and then the troubleshooter wouldn't respond. I have installed two different drivers, first was the 195.39_beta, and now it's the 191.07 whql driver.

This worked for me but only after a system restart.

I'm running Vista 64bit Ultimate, with an Nvidia 275 GPU.

Now I just have to find out why there is no text in the game menus......

@ Wenahman... the simple answer is that the Visual C++ ATL received a service pack. And like the saved games in Dragon Age, if you run the software and save something with a particular piece of content, to open that save you still need the content. Dragon Age will allow you to "force open" a save without your DLC enabled, Visual C++ is a bit more complex and requires the service packed files to operate correctly at all. *shrugs*

@Shade what version drivers are you using?
