lol some of these crack me up.. i think 2 many people are looking into this too much.. its not like this game is like CODMW2 where u pay about 15 bucks for 5 maps 3 of which are in cod4.. ME2 DLC like what 7 dollar dlc and prolly last about a hour or 2 depending on ur skill.. i think all bioware DLC is worth while.. i even got the april fools day stuff for dragon age.. but thats just my opinon

I agree Ashley Williams for ME3 where do i get that and the tali banner?!

There is a creepy-as-hell Tali support thread in the Campaign/Storylines forum. I'm sure they have about 200 variations of the signature, as well as dozens of cringe-worthy fan-fics and drawings.

I've finished ME2 in 1 day after realice, after 2 weeks I stop playing that, and now I need to pay for something new, what was planed beafore realice the game... mass effect was my favorite game, but that what makes bioware with second part makes me sick...

thinking about it again, $7 for 90 mins of entertainment...
movies where i live are ~$10 and, depending on the movie, theyre around 90 mins long.

i think its worth it, considering its basically an interactive movie

I think movies and games are different things although games are starting to meld quite a bit with cinema. Think about it: you paid 60 for 25+ hours.

I actually paid about $30 (pc, new) for ME2, and the first playthrough was 45 hours. That's $1.5/hour compared to $5/hour for a 2 hour film. Plus, I have 7 full playthroughs, totalling over 150 hours easily, each different from the other. If I wanted to watch the film again, I'd have to pay for a new ticket or buy the DVD (and I'd have to wait for that to be released), an the film would be exactly the same as the one I already saw, and I could never watch the same film 7 times.

So, don't compare DLC pricing to films, because games are in their own league in terms of value for money. Compare DLC to games.

Agreed.

The same old inaccurate analysis and improper comparisons all over again.

My opinion is that BioWare has yet to put out a DLC that was actually worth paying for, given what was included in the DLC.

I don't think it would be a ripoff if all the squaddies who survive the suicide mission roll into ME3 as either squaddies or NPCs you can interact with in the campaign/side missions

I love that "DLC is a ripoff, since all the data is already on the disk!!!111!" talk. I guess the DLC files like that of Zaeed or the Hammerhead are just filled with random garbage then.

The size of those files makes it pretty clear that all DLC is obviously not already present on the game disks...

If you don't like the DLC, then don't get it. It's that simple.

its not that simple. how do you know if youll like it if you dont try it? how will bioware know if the DLC is good or bad if they dont hear if its good or bad? how come mirandas wearing a bra? why cant i get this ink mark to come out of my tshirt?

its never that simple.

Kasumi was only on the disc, in so much as they coded the game with her in mind for later. They left a space for her to stand in some places, and took her into account for the last mission. But her missions, her art, her room on the Normandy, all that wasn't there. There were only a few voice files, and a template/placeholder, that's not enough to say she was on the disc already.

Exactly.

This is all well and good, but what are your feelings on the $7 price tag? I know nobody's played it, but let's get some gut reactions. Throw down.

I say $3.

7$ is fine for 90 minutes of additional gametime, a new bonus power to use for the entire game, a new casual outfit to use for the entire game, and a new squadmate to use for the entire game.

Seriously, I have no idea why people complain so damn much, especially about things that haven't been released yet. If you think the price is too high, then don't buy it - nobody is forcing you to. But it's a relatively fair price, and I intend to squeeze every but of story out of Mass Effect 2 as I can.

The problem with the "don't like it, don't buy it" argument is that it is too absolute. What about someone like me who likes it, but not the price tag? With a normal game I can just wait for the price to go down (I got ME1 from a local used games shop for $13. I got ME2 CE for $12 because I had a gift card from Christmas just lying around). With DLC it doesn't work that way, the prices are set and they never--well hardly ever--change. If developers dropped the price over time then I wouldn't have an issue. But they don't. And so I'm curious in knowing what other people's gut reactions are. Do other people think like me? What are their reasons? Am I alone in this thought and why?

Etc.

Nothing substantial, other than some voice work and a filler model, has been found on the disk so far, and it's not like people aren't looking.

The price is set and it seems quite fair. The content is there for those who want to pay the price; if $7 is too much for you, then don't buy it. Like I said, nobody is forcing you to. Simply put, we do not know enough about the DLC to hate on it right now. On the 6th, come back here and find out the finer details after other people play through it. Until then there's honestly no reason to complain.

I'm buying it no matter what, but I'll save my judgment of it's worth for when it's actually fair to evaluate it.

Its not how much of the code was or was not included in the original game that is an issue to me; I already purchased my bioware points & ready to dl Kasumi.

I've heard about the marketing scheme, its called 'project ten dollar', (look it up) actually pretty dang effective (on me alt least, I bought all the DA:O & me2 dlc)

I have no problem with this either. What gets me is the 'gold platinum edition' or (whatever it will be called) that will have all the dlc included at a discount in a year or so.

What about a fancy edition, available upon release, that was like 'hey for lIttle extra....you get ALL the upcoming dlc free....& other standard editions have to pay"? Brand loyality!?! C'Mon!

no matter what you say, I don't care. I just want to have all set in my ME2. I love this game. I guess that Bioware will continue to drop few more DLC until ME3 whether they would be cost or free. but I will still get all of them anyway.

When listening to her voice in the trailer and the files in game I get the feeling that they aren't the same voice actor.

Depends...If you compare with Bethesda or Rockstar--then totally a rip off.

If you compare to capcom or something...then not at all

Good DLC has a much smaller audience than the core game; if they can't sell it for a premium price point, there's no point in making it.  Bioware's DLC definitely has an enthusiast price point on it, though, which really screams a lack of faith in their distribution network.

I'll reserve judgment until it's actually released; if the quality is on par with the Zaeed DLC I'll have no complaints about the price point (with the admitted eyebrow-raising and suspicion they're leaving money on the table).  Bioware does have a well-earned reputation for shoddy quality expansions and DLC; hopefully Zaeed is a sign of that trend changing.

Why the **** isn't this on Cerberus network? Honestly I payed 20 bucks for that **** on xbl and I get some lame ass content? Why make a dlc pass bioware when you have just as much crap coming out for more money. I'm an avid fan and all but this is some EA bull****. Ea CEO is a retard 68% stock decline over 11 consecutive quarters?! Why did you have to sell out bioware. I know I'm beating a dead horse but this is just...sad.

Truthfully, we won't really know if she IS worth it, till the DLC comes out and we see even more details on her build and upgrades you get from her missions. Also, there's the new SMG coming out which looks sweet, but we won't know if it's good till we try it out.

Rage notwithstanding, Cra1n does raise a valid point; is there any particular reason why she isn't going to be a download through the Cerberus Network?
