If the Kasumi data was already on the disc, we would have already known about it. No, only some of the data was included with the original game and it was mostly just some voice work.

Exactly. Yes I know Cerberus was free but when you make people pay 20 bucks it better be worth it. What is the point of Cerberus if more content is released outside of it.

funny I got about 170 hours with 4 playthrough just depends I guess. Still is a ripoff though.

i meant the 50 & 1 was replayable, so 4 replays would be ~ 200 & 4 hours, so i was being rather generous. :)

Well, here's the real question; how much of it is tied to EA and Project 'Ten Dollar"? Releasing Kasumi via the Cerberus Network could have been part of the original plan, but all it could have taken at the very least is one person at EA asking if the player base was getting "too much for nothing".

you dont like it, don't buy it. If not enough ppl buy the DLC they will charge less in the future.. End of story. But I'm always into some good conspiracy theories so keep it up

In a way, yes.

In all seriousness ,it should be part of the Cerberus Network as it is a core material added(/restored/finished) to the game.

But considering the additional dialogues that follow through the enitre game, well, I will be one of the guys who buy it.

Honestly, I expected paid DLCs to be additional content, not 'cut-and-restored' ones, but well, here we are.

Yes and no. If the mission is really good, then it might very well be worth. If not, and combine it with lack of proper dialog Zaeed style, then I lean towards ripoff. The quality of the mission remains to be seen, we have to wait until it is released. I plan on getting it on day-1 it is released anyway, and form my own opinion.

Quite a lot of it. Project ten dollar is tied in with stopping the whole 'used games' thing - which crushes income for the producers - and PTD is the reason that the Cerberus Network is free with a new game (and, more importantly, costs big $ otherwise).
Kasumi is completely unrelated, though. From what we've seen, been told, and know, we can only conclude that she isn't on the disk currently. Meaning, you didn't pay for her data.
Whether or not she was finished before the game released, whether or not there was a chance for her to be on the disk is impossible to say unless you're in the know. But all evidence we have (pretty much nothing) points to "no."

Good DLC has a much smaller audience than the core game; if they can't sell it for a premium price point, there's no point in making it.  Bioware's DLC definitely has an enthusiast price point on it, though, which really screams a lack of faith in their distribution network.

Good point about the smaller (potential) audience. Still, I share the "gut feeling" that 7,-$ is a "premium" price point multiplied by 2 (= a rip-off).

Is Kasumi a rip off? To me, no. I play Mass Effect 2 a lot. Dozens of playthroughs, and I'm just getting into texmod and .ini modification.

if you are going to play ME2 once, then yeah 7 dollars for 1 character isn't going to give yuo a lot.

if you're going to play the game multiple times like me, the 7 dollars is barely noticeable.

I'm definitely going to get way more than 7 dollars out of this character as I will play ME2 at least 2 full playthroughs with her.

Again, if you only are looking to play the game once or twice, then you should wait until DLC is on sale or in a big package deal. for big fans like myself, it is definitely worth it.

thinking about it again, $7 for 90 mins of entertainment...
movies where i live are ~$10 and, depending on the movie, theyre around 90 mins long.

i think its worth it, considering its basically an interactive movie

true

Another thing is for those who got Warden's Keep for $7 was it worth it for about an hour of gameplay? I thought so and factoring in repeated playthroughs still see it as worth it

Maybe they'll just put it all on the disc again. Like the old days. You know. Four years ago.

Well if you did your research then you would have known prior to the release of ME2 that Bioware stated that "There will be DLC released through the Cerberus Network and we will also have Premium DLC which will cost money."

Bioware never said upfront all DLC would come out via the Cerberus Network and maybe with all do respect you should have waited or seen what kind of content was being released prior to purchasing it.

I have no issues with Kasumi costing money. While it would be nice if she was released via Cerberus Network I will still purchase her. I have played the game six times through and have two playthroughs now in progress so for myself  I am pretty darn sure that $7 will be worth it.

Since we're on the beautiful platform called PC, you can always wait for the DLC to become available ahem on other various platforms of media distribution, download it, use the lovely security bypass application for free.

Play it.

Then decide wether or not you want to pay for it.

If you pay for it you're making a huge favor for Bioware and supporting further development, if you don't well you probably think it's a ripoff and you're happy you're not on an iPad.

The content of what's coming on DLC isn't already on the disk, and if it were you won't hear the devs sayin: "Yep, the content is on the discs you all already have. We just tweaked it a bit and you now have to pay for the 7 new Static Meshes / 3 new Animations / 300 lines of VoiceActing / Textures/ Models/ Parti... *cough* no, no, it's brand new folks! "

I hate pirates. That's how ME2 was ruined before it came out. Remember when people were posting massive spoilers? I seriously hope that doesn't happen for ME3.

Well according to what was said on X-play there will be more free stuff on Cerberus more short missions ( which Kasumi was considered) and major expansions. So expect alot more or this "was it worth it" when we sunk over $100 or more on the game.

But if is all like what we have so far in game I for one won't be complaining

What really bothers me is that they didn't give her a recruitment mission. You "bump into her" on the Citadel. Would have been over two hours if she had a recruitment mission AND a loyalty mission. Seems half baked IMO.
