I think considering the time window it's releasing after the game itself that it probably isn't on the disc. Still, it seems that all companies assume they can charge $60 for a game, include "bonus" content packaged with the sole intent of preventing used game sales, and release DLC originally intended to be in the game itself (like Shale).
It's interesting that pretty much everyone thinks they can change $50-60 for a game, when so few games that come out are really worth that. In principle there's no harm in selling at a higher price up front to grab the early fans who can't wait, but it's hard to drop prices heavily on boxed copies, and so many games really should have a $20, $30 price point. You really need a Mass Effect quality title to justify the $50-$60 price tag.
I have trouble imagining that the Shale DLC for Dragon Age was intended to be in the game itself, or even that it was made by the same team; the quality of that package was much, much lower than the quality of the main game. I was getting Baldur's Gate expansion flashbacks when playing it.

Where are you getting your information? Or am I just not reading what they have on the site correctly? The Questioning Motive wrote...

What really bothers me is that they didn't give her a recruitment mission. You "bump into her" on the Citadel. Would have been over two hours if she had a recruitment mission AND a loyalty mission. Seems half baked IMO.

Any more complaints?

They're releasing the incisor rifle over the Cerberus network. According to the ME wiki.
http://masseffect.bi...e.com/info/dlc/
Cerberus has procured the service of Kasumi Goto, the galaxy's most enigmatic master thief. In return for her help, Kasumi has asked Shepard's help on a dangerous heist to infiltrate the vault of a deadly master criminal named Donovan Hock. Gain Kasumi's loyalty on the planet Bekenstein, where Hock is throwing a party for some of the galaxy's richest and most deranged criminal minds to recover data of great importance to Kasumi... and to the galaxy at large. Includes a new squad member, mission, weapon, research upgrade, casual outfit, and achievement.
That is copy / paste from the dlc site. Mission, set of missions, uhh...ruts rup raggy? I see nowhere that says "set of missions". Are you getting this from another site? If so what is the link? Please provide proof of your claims. Or are you misreading it yourself?
Set of missions is a semantics. She has one loyalty mission that might have several different parts, but it will be the same length as any other characters loyalty mission. Sans the dialogue, we are probably getting maybe 30 minutes of ACTUAL gameplay, TOPS.

Dragon Age: Awakening was overpriced and it offered more hours/$.
It adds an interesting new character with awesome skills and you can use them for the entire playthrough, so it really enhances the entire playthrough, I have found a new permanent party member, seeing as my beloved tali was raped with the gimping of tech skills...
I am morally opposed to DLC and this is the second DLC item i've ever bought, I usually torrent DLC, but I felt that it was worth it and don't regret my purchase. I'm just glad all the other DLC was free for me so far, If all the DLC was charged for then there is no way I would have bought any of it because as a whole it becomes too expensive, if they plan to release it like that then they should release an expansion pack. But as a once off kasumi was great.

So will Kasumi be one of those "it's already on the disc, but we're making you pay money to unlock it" types of DLC?
Assuming it is, do you think 7 bucks is a ripoff? I do, considering I already bought the disc and I legally own it.
So whaddya think?
Also, if Kasumi isn't already on the disc then this post has no point and that's a different discussion all together so let's assume she is. Or, if you like we can assume that some of her is and some is a required download. In that case I say 7 bucks is too much considering they've only added a bit of content to what's already on the disc for only an hours worth of gameplay. I say more like $2 or $3. Am I being mean to BW? No. We're talking principles here!
I lol'd.
I am going to disagree. Why? Because I bought the disc and legally own it. I also assume that I am right, because assuming things makes it all valid..................assume.
Excuse me as I pass over your bridge.

If it was 10, I can see why people are not agreeable, but cmon, there are small files there initially before when she was only a rumor. It was obvious bioware couldn't finish in time and wants to add back in their cut content as dlc. You do know there are many other devs who has even an easier advantage to remake their cut content into the game, but does not wish to?
Be glad they decided to get her in the game. I hope she makes it to mass effect 3
unacceptable if she doesn't.

And even with my rants about it (too easy/strightforward, could've use this opportunity to correct the female walk animation, etc...) I do think it's worth the cost.

This new SMG might make the rest of the game easy, but I can't act like snipers haven't done that already.

It's ridiculous companies try to charge 5-10$ for 60-90 min DLC.
I blame Microsoft's introduction to these "micro-transactions"
Now it's "maxi-transactions" for "micro-content"

Felt like a James Bond movie, IMO.
Which made it worth it. A little on the short side, I would've liked more Bond-esque gameplay, but I had a good time and am really enjoying my new Space Ninja.
She is a vanguards dream. Good to know I'll have someone right there with me when I charge half way across the room and get separated from the team. She always shows up right behind and covers my ass.
Kasumi was definately worth the $7. Shale costs a whole $15 in DA:O and all she does is hang out in my camp.
I think BioWare cut some parts out of the mission though. One of the trailers, I remember seeing Shep do more fighting in his formal wear?

This is just a bad argument in general, this began in an era where it was impossible to simply patch a game, and Street Fighter was ALWAYS and still is first and foremost an arcade game and as far as this series is concerned Capcom caters mainly to that crowd. Camcom has never relied on selling copies of the console versions to meet their profit goals anyways. It's not exactly a heavy hitter at home.thisisme8 wrote...
Considering Capcom made around 15 versions of Street Fighter II and Charged full price for every single one of them, I think seven bucks is a deal.
Also, those sprites were damn difficult and time consuming to animate. To some extent, each version they released (usually new characters and graphics have come with each version) required as much or more effort in that regard as most modern games do. 3D makes everything easier.
This is why the upcoming Super Street Fighter 4 is not going to cost the price of a full game. And ya I'll cough up $30 to play a much more balanced game, with more gamemodes (including a replay theater) that will feature much better online play. The fact that they're bringing back ultra combo selection, bonus stages and an additional 10 characters (including Dudley

Well, Shale was actually free for most who bought the game and does a lot more than hang around the camp. She has full branching dialogue menu and two unique missions (the town where you get her and the Deep Roads where you discover her past).

Show us how it should be done. Write your own whole mission, character, environment, yada yada, and sell it for less than $7. Then tell me if you think your money was worth the effort.
