Saying something like he missed me, or why didn't i let him know i was ok. I conversed him in ME1, for some reason I think my male-shep got the speech intended for a female shepard.

A few things:
a) Any character can be bisexual, gay or straight.
If Tali were bisexual, there would no point in having her heterosexual romance only.
c) Linking suits is not necessarily sexual. It's a sign of trust.
d) People can be awkward without it being sexual. That's obvious.
e) If you treat Tali right, Shepard is among the only friends she's had that we know of. Friends =/= lovers.

People have seen Kaidan as bisexual, Jacob as bisexual, pretty much every straight character. Ultimately what is important is what gender they are open to in game, because that's what is canon.

Wow, that's a pretty hefty reaction to a post that only suggests a possibility. Please note the word "might".

From what I understand, Kaiden was ment to be bisexual, but they cut that content last minute. However, I heard there's a bug where you can access that, which result to this in Mass Effect 2...

...be warned, for those who haven't seen it, it will cause you to scream "WHOA! WHOA! What the Hell?!?"... and might example why people thought he was "whiny."

I played every single playthrough as a maleShep and I killed Ashley in every single playthrough. I hated her. So much.

I can honestly say I like every squadmate in Mass Effect 1 and 2 except Kaidan. Always left him on Virmire. The galaxy just seems like a better place without him.

Yeah. It was a mercy kill. We couldn't watch him suffer anymore. It was the right thing to do.

I kept Ashley alive on my third play-though, which is what I imported to ME 2.

I kept Ash alive on my female cannon playthrough. Wanted to see what would happen if I killed my love interest, and continued in Mass Effect 2. I was very disappointed by the end results.

My femshep kept Kaidan alive, but I never really liked him much. I wasn't feeling much love for Ashley, either, but sometimes I wish I had picked her to live, instead. She was a bit more interesting to me.

Okay I'll retract the "whiney" part but he's still a gimp and I've never seen him freak out before Ilos, he's always dead by then.

Being a bit more serious though, I just can't find anything about the character to like and make me want to save him.

He's usually calm and level headed. He's more useful in the storyline if you consider the biotics. He has medical and technical training and several medals. I don't really mind if you don't like him, no skin off my back. I lol @ calling him a gimp though, no idea where you got that from.

Kaidan has more technical knowledge so it makes sense to put him on the bomb, not to mention Ashley is far more suited towards leading a combat-heavy distraction team.

The mission of-course is to destroy the base and once the geth attack the nuke there is no reason not to go back and defend it. Even with the bomb armed it is concievable that the geth could overrun the defenders (all two of them) and deactivate or destroy it. So, Kaidan winds up surviving and Ashley dies. She was my Shepard's love interest too. ;_;

ditto. nuke the base, save the ranking officer. shep just got lucky that her LI has rank.  still, my paragon shep feels guilty and says, "sorry ash. go with God, honey."
