I'm afraid that's a lost battle. Those Zynga morons sent spam messages to ALL their players through their crappy games. That's how far they're willing to go to win.

But we seriously got to organize in order to help Bioware win the finals. If such an aberration is allowed to win, it'll be a blight upon the gaming world. A serious stain on the honor of true gamers!

My friend who plays farmville all the time on facebook will never let me live with the fact that they beat out bioware, as she knows just how much I love ME2 and all that.

From what I've heard that Farmville game is some ****ing serious business.

We should give this one up guys, we've lost.

Zynga is pretty bad for the computer.

i was removing spyware from mine and half of it kept saying Zynga something.

Probably because my bro clicks the ads

All you have to do is look at their wiki page to see that they're a bad company:

Oh... my... god. Valve... is competing against the makers of FARMVILLE?!... Good God. Eventually either Farmville is the best game in the world, or people there really don't care about story and gameplay... But this comes from the same site where BioWare is competing against those that made WoW...

Actually farmville is a pretty entertaining browser game. I play it on facebook once in a while and it aint half bad for just some quick stuff to waste time with.

I'm on the escapist periodically and had yet to vote on any of their madness, but Valve vs the makers of Facebook apps is just plain foolishness and that Valve is losing is even more rediculous.

These free, constant Team Fortress 2 updates for a three year old game are great.
Sure beats paying $15 for  3 new maps until Team Fortress 27: Slightly More Modern Combat  comes out.

I agree, Valve are top tier developers.
Farmvill is probably winning due to casual popularity, I read something like 1% of the world plays it, that's frightening.
It's also frightening that this is an indication of the direction pc gaming will be going.

Valve deserves to win if just for the fact they are responsible for Steam. Win or lose it has no real affect on me, but the idea a facebook app company can beat a company that makes legitimate games like Valve is more than a little bit saddening.

Facebook games are just as legitimate. Its a flash game, just like Dragon age journey's is a flash based game. Just because one developers for a console and the other for a browser, does not make it lesser.

That and steam is horrible, ok given it became better then what it was and I still use it. But I have no love for it. I also hate what Valve did to Counterstrike and therefor raped it to the ground.

GO ZYNGA!

Thenically Zynga dosnt make games. To be a game it would need a clearly defined ending. A victory condition. Not that that has stoped games like simcity or the sims to be labled games mind you and not that their is anything wrong with it. Just thought i should point it out.

Also: Please let Valve win. >_<;

ehm games do not need to have a clearly defined ending or a victory condition to be classified as a game. A sim game, is one of those. It is a game, that simulates something, yet it does not have a defined ending or a victory condition.

Farmville = a sim game.

Dear god. If BioWare goes against Zynga, there is NO chance of winning. Look at the vote counts! The difference is almost double!

A sim game makes no sence. Its a sim period. simulations != games. That dosnt stop some simulations to be fun however.

Well atm i would say that BioWare is in the real finals. Even on these boards people are split between Blizzard and Bioware - something i dont think will happen over Zynga vs Bioware ;)

on the contrary a sim game fits perfectly, as it is interactive and open to changes from the player. Were a pure simulation, only simulates what can happen based on pre-set variables.

We will just have to disagree on that issue ^^

I would cite training simulators not as games but as simulators. For example the simulators used to train pilots. Though on the whole this part of the discussion is going OT and I think its simply best to let it stop with a simple agree to disagree :)

Honestly, this is the first time I even heard of some "Zynga". How can they be even compared to Valve?

I went ahead and voted for both Bioware and Valve twice using that twitter vote feature. Damn you Bioware and Escapist, forcing me to use twitter this week, after I swore never to use it once! Oh well, if it means prizes and not letting Zynga beat actual video-game companies in a video-game developer competition, then it's worth it!
