I've had my gamefaqs account for years.  I've contributed to gamefaqs.  One modded post and they suspend my account.  What did I post?  Someone asked how they know which twitter account is linked to what social account so I answered (that it was in the rules and that they contact you on twitter for your social information) and left my unique URL.  They said I was spamming and trolling.  What the hell???  Massive numbers of people have been leaving their unique URLs all over the internet to earn tokens and gamefaqs is now suspending accounts over it?!?!?  No one said that posting our URLs was wrong or that we would get suspended over it.  I had to dig around on the site for 30 minutes before I even found out that I was suspended, I just kept getting an error every time I tried to read the message boards.  Of course they've also deleted my post so its my word against theirs to what I posted.  Has anyone else been suspended by these ****s over this?  If my account doesn't get unsuspended, I'm through with gamefaqs.

A suspension is not a ban. It's temporary.

The site said it would be reviewed by an admin as to whether the suspension would get lifted or not. So it could be temporary or it could not.

I remember someone getting banned from GameTrailers for leaving his unique URL. 4Chan was handing out 24 hour bans for it, too. Just because Bioware is all for spamming, doesn't mean everyone else is

4chan bans you for just attempting to link your referral, it doesn't even have to be reported.

that was me, and i posted my link at the end of my comment of a video. Later I contacted the guy who banned me, and he told me it's a perm bann and my IP was tagged so i can never start a new account. Pure A**holes over at GT

Are you serious, dude? I mean, I can understand how other sites wouldn't want spam, but a perm ban for a small URL plug?  Way overkill.

They suspended my account there because Supposedly i used 2 accounts to post on the forums. Which I did at first. I was happily using my old account there before I bought settlers 7. Now thanks to that stupid drm they placed on it, I had to link my game to an account. Which ofcourse did not work so i had to make a new account.



Started posting on that and 2 days later, BWAM! Suspended. No reason, no contact info, cant even read the forums on the account or contact anyone. and there customer support telling me I need to contact them through the forums....

i got banned from gamespot and lost my gamefaqs as well so i made and new on i can still search and stuff but no posting so i can't ask for help its ****ing annoying

GameFAQs and GameTrailers are both terrible sites run by terrible people (but they are not fascists) and you are better off without their terrible crud.

They were doing you a favor, OP. The crowd there often leaves something to be desired. I've never had troubles with GameFAQ's moderators but it hardly matters with a community like that. Go for the FAQs, if you need them, then run. Run like the wind!

I'm with Seagloom on this one. GFAQs has some of the most insane people in existence. I would still try to contact another mod to see if you can get it reversed. However, all that site is good for is the FAQs.

Bioware has specifically stated that spamming other sites (against their TOS), hiding your URL, and other tomfoolery is against the rules.

LOL, maybe you should read the TOS/EULA once in a while.

Having more than 1 account is against the rules of most services and definitely on terms of banning the alt-account and suspending the primary.

I actually think this is not a good idea, creating ill will with other sites, because our people are spamalicious.....and I am sure by this date, most other sites are heartily fed up with it.

Those who are spamming every site they can find, are at fault...but in the end it is Bioware and EA that look bad.

Alot of sites are banning/suspending accounts for dropping the link because it is considered spam....and kinda is...

Granted in that regard its not, but just randomly dropping URLS which link to "Buy **** here" sites is usually considered spam. We are serving as marketing monkeys for BioWare for this contest.
