But is SW:TOR going to be an MMORPG like for instance WoW or will it become more of a CORPG like Guildwars?
To start of i should explain where im comming from.
I have played WoW off and on since its first release - resently stoped due to guild drama and Mass Effect 2 releasing just as i ran out of time. Though what i will put forth isnt by any means restricted to WoW. I will however use WoW as a point of reference.
I think anyone who has played any MMO, WoW included know the angst or disgust for what is simply refered to as PUGs or Pick Up Groups. Most of the time PUGs would only come into the picture when you are doing a dungeon crawl but it isnt unheard of to PUG a particularly hard quest.
Now remember the quest demo we have been showed. Remember the dynamic dialogue where all players in the party got to participate? I remember my first thoughts when I saw that demo. First I though: Sweet! Thats going to be awesome. A plit seconed later however: Man, there is no chance I would dare to take a random guy that i dont know with me on quests. Upon more reflection Im not even sure i would take a friend unless their happened to play their character in a manner that fits together with mine.
So my concern is that in making the game more storydriven have this made SW:TOR into more of a massive singleplayer experiance or can it still be multiplayer?
Would you risk a random player into your quest group who might just want to stress through the quest and get onto the next one or would you be extremly selective in who you team up with?
Have you (Bioware) thought about this and if so have you come up with a way to counter this?
Just some thoughts.
