Universe feels to me like 1st season of BSG did - that quality and drama.

As I was saying I stopped watching after they cancled Stargate SG1/Atlantis and BattleStar Galatica. (Those where my favorites)
But alot of the stuff on "SyFy is crap like "Wherehouse 13", and to me SG Universe seems like a poorly done BSG.

Atlantis had some really great episodes and stories but it was off and on.
SGU is clearly pushing the "emotional" dramatic stuff, not that i object to drama, this is more like reality-tv drama than science fiction drama.

I'm not sure if I'd place it quite at that level. I've called SGU (what we've seen so far), the "Poor Man's Battlestar".MerinTB wrote...

That sounds insulting, but it's actually a compliment considering how epic Seasons 1, 2, and most of 4 of BSG were.
Interestingly though, I think the best episode so far has been "Time" - which was much more similar to an SG-1 or Star Trek episode.
For any US viewer interested in getting a taste of this show, there's still some episodes on Hulu - including "Time" (which is rather standalone).

As an avid fan of SG-1 and Atlantis I musy say that SGU sucked. It just didn't feel like Stargate at all because they were trying to be edgy adn gritty etc. They should try to sopt copying Battlestar Galactica(another show I dislike) and for goodness sake the cameramen should get tripods. All the shots are shakey-cam which just irritates me when I'm trying to watch it. I want my cheesy military action sci-fi back.
Have to agree with this, although i wouldnt say sucked. It just didnt feel like stargate.
The humour that RDA injected into SG-1 and that lasted till Atlantis is gone.

Please no spoilers........i live in Australia........we get everything late..........
Isn't it being 'fast tracked' from the US on scifi?
I love SGU, much better then the other two in my opinion, though I did like both of them. Atlantis more than SG1, but then when something goes for that long you can't really expect it to be perfect all the time.

I have no idea where america is up to but it seems Scifi is lying to me then. Season two!? We are just halfway through season one.
Wait what? So what was that big break with the dramatic cliffhanger for!? What happened on the last ep you saw? (no spoilers so PM me)

I think what is airing now is just the second half of the first season. It seems thats how SciFi runs these shows. You get 10 episodes of the "big" shows and then they test the waters for a few months with some other shows.
