Colonel Young seems like an ass to me. You just don't throw some one on an uninhabitable planet for trying to frame you, epically when he is the one of only ones that know how to use the ship. that could have cost everyone there lives latter on. I don't think Young will make it through the last episode of the season alive.

At every turn it seems like Rush does not care about anybody else on the ship and just has his own agenda......he finally snapped.

So far of our three "leaders" (young, rush, asian lady whose name i forget) the good colonel is the only one i trust.

It is not that he doesn't care. he just thinks he alway know whats best and he doesn't what to have to answer to anyone.

I think he just wants to be on the ship to look at the shiny tech and only wants the others to keep things running for him. :bandit:

But none of the characters are perfect.

I don't think they're meant to be perfect.
I actually trust the Camile Wray "Asian lady" the least,  she seem to be sneaking around the most. Young would be next because he has a history of lying and continues to do so.  Rush dose his share of lying as well but it seems to have a hidden reason for it. If they held an election for the a ship wide government I'd think   Johansen "the medic" would have the best chance of being elected.

Nah Chloe would win, she already has the 2nd in charge of the marines and the second  of the sceintists eating out of the palm of her hand, plus her daddy was a senator (she was involved in his career) and he died for them so she could play on that.

Yeah, but Chloe doesn't have any respect, she is just eye candy.

You seem to be confused about the voting process.

Chloe is a child, I think people are nice to her because of the death of her father, and they do respect her, but not enough to ever nominate her to a position of leadership. there are too many better qualified candidates, even supporting-characters, like TJ the medic.

I personally think Rush absolutely deserved what Young gave him and I didn't understand why they are making Young regret his decision. I would have airlocked Rush a dozen times by now and felt completely comfortable.

As for the idea of who "should be in charge." The station was under Young's command, and subsequently, the population of that station is under Young's command. Civilians do not belong in space, and they definitely do not get a democracy in space.

Sorry, only tough guys need apply for leadership positions.

I mainly see Chloe ending up in charge as a compromise everyon agrees on because of her nuetrality.

Eeep! What did everyone think of the last episode?? I think we're up to the same place... if not be as ambiguous as possible. Haha.

I'm liking it a lot more now, definately picking up the pace. But I thought it was pretty awesome beforehand too.

yeah, the first half of the season was all introductions and reality tv drama, it seems the show is finally starting to feel like stargate. which is awesome.

Favourite characters anyone?

Chloe got naked. Again. We can now dismiss her as she is the only character to have gotten naked and has done so more than once.

Oy. There's a thread for this here as well? Pfft, and I've been missing out.

Well, going to watch episode 14 tomorrow.

To sum my current opinion of the series up:

Not nearly as good as SG-1 nor Atlantis. It has turned more and more into a drama show instead of science-fiction. Which in my opinion should have interesting and difficult dilemma's that are solved by application of intelligent... applications!

Regardless. Even though it became more of a drama show... I still am enjoying it. And I hear they go back to their roots in episode 14, we'll see.

sorry for necroing, but tonight's episode of SGU was awesome. I am liking the show more every week. It also doesn't hurt that RDA, Amanda Tapping and Michael Shanks have been in the past few episodes.

I am most excited to see what Eli finds exploring 8)

the season finale is next week!

I loved SG-1, I loves Atlantis

But Universe...( I have only seen the 1st half of the season since I dont get SyFy and I haven't got time to download and watch it...) but so far it hasn't impressed me, it has some really boring episodes where the only thing that happens it Cloe whining about here feelings and ****ing Scott..

But im gonna keep watching because I love Rush and there is so much potential in the serie..

So I hope the 2nd half is better..

SGU is Stargate for real - unlike the happy go lucky SG1 and Atlantis (which I liked) but I am digging the grit and the feeling of true peril.

I really thought they were actually going to kill off Rush but then again who could step up to that role. Also not sure about **SPOILER!!!**

resetting Lou Diamond Philips' character

**END SPOILER**

I think the cast is great except for the busty Marine - her acting is fine but she just looks like a pinup in uniform - weird.

We just need to start developing a few more characters and a way we go

Does anyone else think that Eli will stumble upon the armory with all sorts of goodies and save the day.

not an armory, i expect whatever eli finds will be good, but not so powerful that it compromises the longevity of the story. but yeah, i do expect eli to stumble onto something awesome.

Ok, I saw 'Divided', 'Faith' and 'Human' today and I must say I liked them a lot (if u haven't seen them don't read on)

It's different form the other two, since they don't get much time on a planet and don't have true archeologists to explore and I really miss that. But maybe Cloe can fill that role a bit after 'Human', and her big nerd moment (about time she does something usefull)

I miss the science and archeology/history talk and the great interactions between the characters like RDA and Daniel in the first few seasons of SG1 and McKay with pretty much anyone in Atlantis and the great humor that came forth from that.

SGU isn't Stargate but it's starting to be a good serie on its own and I like the whole dark theme that surrounds it

'Divided' was a bit predictable and that whole trackingchip in Rush' chest didn't make sense at all (why would they have to implement a trackingchip if they have him as prisoner?) but I would love to know why the aliens are after Destiny and what they know that we don't about the ship

In 'Faith' I missed the real exploration, ok they finnaly decided that it was a good idea to take a look around the ship but they could have made it more deeper, not je fastforward it with music instead of conversation.

But then again, that was SG-1 and SGA and I should be comparing SGU with those

But I do wonder what that robot does...

'Human' I loved because it gave more insight in Rush' live and past and I loved Daniel Jackson apperance and his reference to 42, and I loved the ending. I didn't expect them to got stuck there, since they always find a way out so I am really curious to find out how they are going to get back to Destiny..
