By that logic, your LI shouldn't have even been in DA:O at all. I mean, a blight? Isn't that kind of a warzone?

Well, she wasn't the Warden's LI until she was already well involved in the mess that was the Blight in DA:O. Why would the Warden want to put his/her love interest into even more mortal peril than she has already been in? I would think Leliana may think the same if she came across a job that was she had to do and was high risk, she would be glad that the Warden is safe while she is doing something that can get her or her companions killed.
Now if they both stumbled across a warzone, then that is different and both would try to make sure the other survives, but since the Warden was originally seperated (as stated in the DA:O epilogue) I don't think he/she would think: Geez, I really wish Leliana was here to defend Vigil's Keep while I defend Amaranthine.

That is just my logic, and no this doesn't have to fit with every Warden's logic, people play their Wardens how they wish.
Edit: Well, this is just from a story perspective... they could of added her in, but that would take even more time that Awakening needed to be worked on.

Ok since i finished awakening like 5mins ago,it said ta the end that i never came back to keep and that i was saw with red haired girl in Denerim,so that made me happy for now ofc



So i expect that next expansion be like 40hrs long with both me and my love Leliana there with no excuse.

Heh ever since Leliana I've been wanting to shove my wifey's head in a pool of red dye. Then last nite she showed me this artwork and made me go "AH!" Bad move woman... now wheres my pool of red dye...







But meh, looks like I'll wait out for DA2

totally agree here. while i enjoy just about anything DA, i was VERY underwhelmed by awakenings...
and as for Oghren, "bringing back a favorite from origins" wouldnt describe my idea of him nor i think many other players...

i felt so disjointed, but i think the best case scenario is, it might be a prologue to a new dragon age. it introduced sapient darkspawn and set up the rebuilding of the wardens... anyways i hope we hear some news about where the story/game will be going, im very curious.

Considering what happened to Lothering after you left she WAS 100% safer with you. 

Though I doubt poor Ser Bryant made it out alive.  He seemed like the type to gather up those who couldn't flee (due to injury or age or whatever) in the chantry for one last stab at defending them.

As for Awakenings, I've not yet played it, still working through Origins. But Looking at the game as an expansion, not a full blown new game (Cost aside), I can deal with not having Leli at my warden's side for one jaunt across Fererldan. But I am curious about what they'll be doing with the DLC and her.

I reckon the romances could be explored more fully in DLC that isn't necessarily linked to Awakening. Bioware could create several smaller DLC than Awakening that cover the romances after Awakening has ended. That for me would be far more satisfactory. Provided bioware make sure the DLC isn't as buggy as a termite mound.
