I hate March Madness. All the Escapist gets is a bunch of people flocking to it just to vote and then hastily leaving. And a bunch of old/new members getting banned because they couldn't control their rage when their favorite developers lost.



Though I will admit that I would prefer BioWare to win through vote spamming rather than Turbine or Zynga.

The BioWare Bazaar was a countdown clock that got the attention everywhere. It wasn't just the escapist who covered it, nor was it made for that intention. This coundown clock was made last week, before round four even started. Do you naturally just talk out of your ass?

You answered your own question. None of the other participants are giving out actual prizes and why would they hold the contest during April when the company was founded in the beginning of February? Let's look at the timeline, shall we?

The Bioware countdown began the day before the Bioware vs Epic poll in Round three began and they overwhelmed Relic by a very wide margin.

First of all, Oliver Stone:

You're an idiot. Just throwing that out there. You act as if ONLY the Escapist covered Bioware's countdown. It's Spring Break for half of the damn nation at the moment. People have time to jack around and read their twitter during their time off, which is why the contest ends on April 10th, WHICH IS THE FINAL day of Spring Break for quite a few people. 

Second:
Wanna know why relic lost? Because Chaos Rising blew. Wanna know why Epic lost? Because they haven't made **** in the past year. Why would Bioware go through this huge process of giving tons of free stuff away. Do they ADVERTISE the link to the battle with the rules of the Bazaar (which has made quite a few people from Canada, New York, and Florida mad)? No.

The sign of a weak position is name calling and hostility. But you're right again, more than just the Escapist covered the countdown. Lots of sites did, putting more attention on Bioware from their mysterious marketing ploy. No other participant in the Escapist event went through such lengths to grab the Internet's attention. Most of them only called on their own communities whereas Bioware decided to entice everyone with prizes to get them on their side.

Making Bioware's effort that much more insidious.

I was wondering the same thing.  Seems more like an ad campaign to get folks to sign up for Twitter rather than being an objective poll, what with the double-votes and all.

Silly me, I only now stumbled across this thread. I've been posting a link to the BioWare vs. Blizzard poll on a few character support forums, hoping to win some votes for Bio. But it's finally about time for me to sleep.

I'm simply scared of waking up to see the results tomorrow.
