Perhaps the Escapist contest have rules for the contestants as well? Like not advertising or promoting after the poll starts? Hence why all of Biowares actions were the day before their respective poll began.
Where did BioWare link to the contest? I'm quite sure they couldn't care less about what happens.
Forum threads, twitter, etc. No massive front page thing, but then again they already have a contest running to get your attention.
Link?
http://twitter.com/biofeedhttp://twitter.com/masseffect2I think some of the other official twitter accounts for Bioware sent votes as well but I don't follow them.
I have no problem for employees sending in votes via Twitter using their own accounts, it's their right, but having the official accounts send out votes means everyone following see's them. Sneaky, indirect way of advertising the contest.
Especially since the Bazaar made the number of followers on Biofeed leap up more than quarter in a single day.
http://twittercounte...month/followersYou'll even notice the timer made new followers increase above the average.
But as with any contest, it's a marketing ploy. I'm trying to make the case that they timed the Bazaar to help them get several birds with one stone. Seems to be panning out, imho.

I doubt that. Zynga has been spamming
their Facebook page with cries to vote for them. Back in round 1, The
Behemoth was spamming Newgrounds with similar pleas.
EDIT:
Actually just Tom Fulp, but he founded both companies.
From his personal Facebook account or using company accounts? I don't use Facebook, do they have official company groups?
