I read the minimum spec list for this game as geforce 6600 so I bought it, my 7900 being better than that. however the result of my trying to play is a message saying my physx drivers need updating.
They are the newest being downloaded direct from nvidia today.

Have you tried installing the ones from the game DVD. Physx doesn't need a card to run as it has a CPU mode.

No the minimums not wrong, but its gonna be a case of being able to play it vs being able to play it with it looking nice. The 7900 series will probably only let you run at 1028x720 (or whatever it is) and still see okay frame rates. But for the price of 50 bucks or so you could probably pick up a 8800 512mb card now days. (I could be wrong on price, havent been keeping track. I am still rolling my 8800 gtx ultra till I build my new i7 machine in Feb.)

Bought it as direct download and so don't have a disc but again as I said from what i have read the graphics card has to be CUDA supported.
All the physx drivers are installed but when I press PLAY all i get is a prompt to update them and the game closes, can't get past this at the moment.

Although the official minimum Geforce for XP certainly appears to be some sort of Pie in the sky fantasy daydream from Bioware, the 7900 cards will work, they just won't offer any PhysX functionality. Your PC will have to run CPU-based PhysX code, is all.
