Unless you're a vanguard, Jacob's squad incindiary and pull is a no brainer for me, for the first 2 or 3 missions.

Jacob's a stinkface, tali and jack too...stupid shotgun users. Miranda, Thane and Samara were almost always on my squad for reaves/warps. I used garrus on the IFF mission and Suicide mission part 2 to get squad AP ammo on my weapons
