Ah, so Allistair seems to be the male Tali of DA:O, yes?

I still don't get the point, why someone is disliked, just because a lot of fanboys/girls have their childish crush on that person.

I'm totally an Allistair Fanboy.

And yes, I'm totally straight. I like his desperation, his fear his whining and most of all, his humor.

I think he's an exceptionally well written character and I don't give a s**t if little girls ma*turbate to him or whatever. That's my game after all.

It DOES need more CZ!

Edit: And really, who cares about Alistair?  All that matters for THIS thread is he likes the dwarf ladies too!

This bears repeating:

Zevran and Alistair were written by the same writer. It's like fighting over David Gaider's left nut and right nut. Just saying. ;)

I have weird mental images now. Thanks ever so.

It's hardly a debate. I just said that Alistair fangirls have pretty much ruined the character for him (well, that and his constant yelling at me for committing the worst act of betrayal against the Grey Wardens he can imagine which, while understandable, gets a little old), no one else understands why I'm 'letting' them ruin it for me, and since I didn't make a conscious choice to start resenting him it's not something I can help. Well, I'll always think of my first playthrough as a buddy comedy between Agronor Aeducan and Alistair.

"Hmm, Landsmeet won't accept a Dwarven consort, huh?...well, Alistair's been with me through my crazy saving-the-world adventures, the least I can do is set him up with a nice girl..."

That was what I thought as well.. until of course he left me after the Landsmeet. Didn't even know about hardening him at the time.

By "here" I mean the entire forums, it seems to be a common theme today.

And I'll agree that Ali fangirls make me want to stab something. The ones that especially say that the only "happy" and "good" ending in the game ever is being married to Alistair as his queen makes me
ffffffffffffffff-
fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff-

fffff-ff

Ok, good now.

*Wonders why inferior humans are mentioned in a Dwarven Master Race thread*

Anyhow, I am really interested in the history of the Dwarven Empire and I am trying to imagine what it would have looked like at its zenith.

Dwarven architecture is very impressive and in some ways surpasses that of even the Tevinter Imperium (which architecture was also built or at least influenced by the Dwarves, Ostagar being an example).

The Empire must have looked mighty impressive. And fairly large, from at least Kal ShiroK (in Orlais) to Gwaren (far east of Ferelden).

I wonder what its relations to the Tevinter Imperium were. Probably friendly, as they helped them build Ostagar.
How about the elves I wonder?
And what's interesting about the Dwarves is that they never seemed to have tried to invade the surface, despite potentially being able to (their resistance to magic probably would have the Magister lords ****** in their pants).
This could be attributed to their fear of the surface, but as we have seen in Origins, that fear is mostly a small (and cute) thing. If pressed, the Dwarves would go and fight on the surface with no problems.

One dwarven hairstyle I'd really like for the female dwarves are those cornrows that the men have. That seems like a total Brosca hairstyle, if you know what I mean.

I really need to take some screenshots of a dwarf/Alistair kiss, but since I don't have one for now, hmmmmm, how about a Zevran with a male dwarf.  That way Alistair isn't even an issue!

Posted Image

I think the fact that he's naked in this picture just goes to enhance the perfection of dwarf + Zevran. Or something. Truly, my motive is that I like posting pictures of kisses!

OMG, KoP, I LOVE YOU.

I was JUST looking around in the game, admiring the dwarven architecture and taking pictures of tombstones. I'll dig up the screenshots and share.

Missa would rock that hard.

Luls this reminds me, I wrote an Aeducan/Alistair thing where Lady Aeducan was getting a weave. My mind, it's weird.

Nah, that's nothing worth debating over.
I think it's just childish to get so angry over some fictional characters.
Even more so if one lets his fun be spiled by otherswho just not share the same opinion.

My next female character will for sure be more "Renegade" (To use ME terms) and she will for sure turn to Zevran and Morrigan will be her best friend. Just as my good natured girles have allistair and wynne as constant party members.

It's the same in the ME-Subforums. The Tali guys "Worship" tali, wich is strange enough, but even weirder are the haters, that seem just to exist to make the life of those Tali guys bad. Damn - it's only a fictional character...
A good written and enjoyable one, but nothing more.

I also found it a little odd Aeducans can grab facial tatoos, it seems a little un-thematic. (Unless you like, close your eyes to it during the origin story and pretend that your DN tatood himself after he was exiled.)

I didn't know about it when I was messing around with the character creator like a week before release, though.

your "renegade" sounds like my Brosca. <3 Morri was her ladyfriend and Zev her bedwarmer. Alistair was the idiot she arm punched when he started his silliness.

That would be great!
Too bad most of their Empire is ruins.

I particurarily like the Cadash Thaig (Shale's home).  It must have been pretty sweet to live there when it was intact.

That's quite exactly how I plan her to be. It's gonna be fun, and I'm really curious about all the different dialogs that are going to emerge then.

Dwarven architecture is very impressive and some ways surpasses that of even the Tevinter Imperium (most of which was also built by the Dwarfs, Ostagar being an example).

What always gets to me is in Awakening when you seal off the basement. Voldrik tells you that the door you use to cut off access to the Deep Roads was designed by ancient dwarves when the darkspawn first invaded but they hadn't had time to finish it. If they had...

This is in the room where you retrieve the shield of Aeducan in the origins:

I imagine King Endrin gets buried in one of these. It's pretty fancy.

All right, since I've officially made a hot dwarf lady (well, almost... made her as a Brosca but going to redo her as an Aeducan because the Bannhammer got the image of a  sexy red-headed Brosca with an amazing ass in my head), I'm going to consider it an invitation into this thread. Haven't played either origin yet, and really have nothing intelligent to add, but since all the cool people are in here it's obvious that dwarven awesomeness is unparalleled even by the once great Zevran himself.

Btw, when you reach a point that people make you dislike a character due to their fangirliness, that's when you make it all into a joke and create something like Princess. You'll feel much better about the world. <3

Also, those concept drawings of Orzammar are freaking amazing and make me want to start digging holes in my yard.
