It would seem so, yes. Especially in the Alistair thread... good god...Costin_Razvan wrote...
Seriously, by all the mods related to sex on Dragon Age, Bioware might as well change the name to Dragon Age: Pornography.
The fanfictions, and Zevran/Alistair threads also prove that true. What has this game became? The favorite masturbating tool for someone people?

While I don't mind nudity - this is a game for mature audiences anyway, I'm quite wondering that there hasn't been some screaming from certain traditionalists yet, like I stated earlier.
They were mad about the romance scenes of ME1, and they're nothing compared to the dragon age ones IMO - even unmodded.
About the dwarven models - I like the original better. But I'm a sucker for big butts... maybe that's why

She doesn't have an Orlesian accent, does she? I'm not sure you can be a real dwarf if you have an Orlesian accent.Aye. Bored.Sarah1281 wrote...

@Sarah -- I don't think so. I think they just share the same combat voice files as the ones in origins.

Why would you do such a terrible thing to a poor, innocent dwarf? It's it bad enouh he has to be from Orlais? Now he has to sound like it, too?soignee wrote...

He's Belgian, not Orlesian. The Orlesian accents in the game are either softened by years in Ferelden (a la Leliana and Riordan) or not like Majorlaine and Isolde. And that random perfume-seller.soignee wrote...

I applaud the Poirot homage but do we really need a male Majorlaine/Isolde running around? Honestly, that thought is terrifying...

My Orlesian is brilliant. He's in my head, making hot chocolate with an apron on and having serious discussions with
I also hate the French accent on reflex as my boss is French, BUTTTT this Orlesian will smack me of it!

Possibly, but that would not be considered as agriculture perse. But perhaps it can be equated to sedantary life.
Still, if the human experience is to teach us anything, is that "primitive" forms of providing for food generally do not jump start a civilisation as advanced as the Dwarves.
The origin of human technology is agriculture (better tools, better irrigation systems...etc). Herding animals on the otherhand does not really push one to advance technologically. Furthermore, herding animals implies pasture and ways to feed them, which do not seem to be abundant udnerground.
So what is it that pushed the Dwarves to be so technologically advanced compared to others (humans and elves mostly)?
Of course all this is mostly irrelevent but I am still interested. Were the Dwarves ever nomads? How and when did they settle? Why did they develop technology, keeping in mint that necessity is the mother of all inventions?
the fight for survival itself is the key of human advancement. Providing abundant food was the major trigger for human technological evolution, as that was the biggest obstacle to growth they faced.
Remember, food sources in the deeps survive and are maintained differently than surface. While animals of the deep do not graze on grass, they could be maintained, much like swine are on the surface: surviving on any refuse they can find (nugs are often said to do just that, eat filth), so there would be different means for providing for them. Underground plant life could be farmed, dwarves inventing new methods to produce as much as they could. Tools and methods needed to be worked. And that's just the food aspects. There are many other challenges to underground life, such as safety from wild animals and such.
Were the dwarves nomads? Unlikely. Nomadic life is often fueled by broad horizons and changing seasons, things that do not exist underground. The food animals of dwarves, as well as the plants they eat, seem pretty much set to occupy very limited areas, and caves and caverns to not encourage nomadic tendancies. So, it is unlikely the dwarves were every wandering nomads. Plus, the deep roads didn't exist until dwarven civilization built them, so before civilization, the closest thing you'd have were natural tunnels and lava tubes, and some caverns.
There is one more factor to consider: lyruim. The fact that dwarves are highly resistant to both magic and lyruim poisoning suggests that they have evolved genetic mutations that are favorable for survival around the stuff. For that kind of resistance to develop, you need hundreds, perhaps thousands of generations of development for it to become a natural factor in the race. Perhaps lyrium also plays a part in the dwarves technological evolution.
