seriously Zevthread is spammed with Missa stuff at the moment, maybe I should calm it down. I've been posting WIP reports of a painting I'm working on, and it's like on every page, and then I got Aimo's (I LOVEEEE YOU AIMMMOOOO) stuff in my inbox and I was all dammmnnnn gurl.

Also I am still hyper from my boxercise class and feel the urge to exercise still. Methinks I'm going to feel it tomorrow >.>

The other one is a dwarf. That is what makes it related.

It is just as relevant as discussing warcraft continuation issues.

Edit: So, in short: Stop yer bellyaching!

Zevran is irrelevant. It's all about the dwarf in the picture which is based on a dwarf poster that contributes a lot to this thread drawn by an artist who is known for her love of DAO dwarves.

If soignee hadn't shared it in this thread, I would have missed it as I don't keep up with the Zevran thread. It's just a picture -- what is the big deal? Just right click and block the image if it disturbs you that much.

My Aeducan is progressive. Though he did not believe he would have the power to change the caste system. He can only applaud Bhelen for doing it.

Wut, no? I was saying that even though Zev's in the picture, it doesn't mean the picture has to be confined to the Zev thread. Look at my earlier posts supporting their union, dweeb!

hurr durr that wasn't aimed at yooooou my lovely. Of course I know no crayons would be going near the screen! Because I would've eaten them, as I fail at comprehension and need sustinance, it seems.

That little comment was just at a certain grump insteadddddd, and I was facetiously photobombing Zevran in the thread :D

It's only impressive if the change outlasts him.

Little Endrin will be his father's son through and through.

It will be awkward reading the Shaper Tomes about the line of kings in that period, a few centuries after they die.

King Endrin Aeducan.

King Bhelen Aeducan.

King Endrin Aeducan.

That's assuming Endrin succeeds him. I know he's the oldest and currently Bhelen's only son but he flat-out tells the DC he hasn't settled on an heir (probably to avoid the situation he found himself in where the oldest was, well, Trian and the younger two were far better suited to rule) and given that that's not what the DC is going to want to hear, I'm inclined to believe him.

And just because Endrin will be Bhelen's son doesn't mean he'll be like him. I mean, look at how different Bhelen and his siblings were. Plus, once the Assembly inevitably reforms as Bhelen dies and they're called upon to choose a successor will they REALLY pick who Bhelen wanted since they all hate him?

Bhelen was not so different from his father, in the sense he was willing to do whatever it took to succeed. You must remember that young Endrin also has a castless mother, and from what we can tell in game, she will play a great deal of time raising her child. I am not certain he would against his father's wishes and against the castless, when he had one himself as a mother.

Regarding the succession. Remember that the chance for making children for the dwarves is quite small. Assuming he even wants another child and that he actually has another one, then well I am certain he will take steps to make sure they don't cause another civil war like he and Harrowmont had.

As for the Assembly reforming, why would it? If Bhelen has an iron grip. ( And he has one ) then he will make sure that by the time he dies every noble house is cowed by the Aeducans. Remember that House Aeducan IS the strongest house in all of Orzammar, and after decades of rule under Bhelen, then it certainly could not be matched in power by the other Houses.

There is no reason to assume that the Assembly would inevitably reform after his death. Bhelen's strong grip will make sure that whoever he chooses will become king. In addition, we know that House Aeducan has a strong presence in the army.

Some real life dictatorships who managed to get rid of the assembly / parliament / whatever have lived on after the initial founder's death. So I do not see how it's inevitable that the Assembly would reform, unless the Aeducan hold on Orzammar becomes weak.

Doesnt Rica have limited time with Endrin if Bhelen lives? I think his various tutors and whatever second he receives, will have the biggest impact on his development. We know she can impart a nice moral sense, since that is what she did with the DC, but it's not really clear if Bhelen would see her potential contributions as necessary.

Just because it's pretty important that Endrin develop the necessary disposition and skills to succeed Bhelen, doesnt mean he will, and there is no real way to ensure that.
