I'm not in the habit of reading fanfic because my husband is a newspaper reporter so I already have enough stuff to read on a regular basis (and HE writes fanfic in his spare time, arrgh), but I do read fanfic if it's linked/talked about in a thread or if someone asks me what I think of a chapter. I've heard enough about the writing you're doing for Aimo that I'm geniunely curious what's in it.soignee wrote...
No one on this thread is going to like it, will bet cold hard cash on it. Maybe Gilsa, but I'm not sure she reads lolfanfic or not, possibly Sarah if she can switch off her Aeducan and read someone else's... Herr would just like the booty, maybe. IDK.

The one place I think I've died (at least once) every time I've played is in the fade when you go past the room with the crazy servants and the demons coming out of the fireplace. Those mages always somehow end up making it game over.BigBad wrote...
Complete the entire game without the main character ever falling in battle. Got it on my third full playthrough. Cousland sword-and-boarder. He was indestructible.

Huh. I guess it's the same thing as the Sten fight in which you're supposed to just lose to him and all your companions tell him they're still not following him. Instead you get the game-over screen. I will get the dialogue tree for when you're supposed to just lose.Radahldo wrote...
I just lost to mandar and it was a gameover

Dace: "The ancestors have spoken. I, on behalf of House Dace, forgive you for challenging my honor." (arrogant, smug)
Dace: "Perhaps in future you will think twice before insulting your elders and betters, hmm?" *END DIALOGUE*

Shango learned the basics of templar training from Alistair and the Andrastian philosophy from Leliana. He's considering converting, and probably will after the Urn quest.

This conversation is keyed automatically when returning from honor proving if player has won first blood match against Mandar Dace.
IF PROVING HONORS FIRST BLOOD
Meino: "What a show of skill that was!" (enthused)
Bemot: "I find myself wishing it'd been to the death. House Dace could certainly use one less champio--" (snarky)
King Endrin: "The hour is late. These deshyrs have waited patiently, as have the Grey Wardens." (a little offended at the gossip -- he does not like having this fight mar his child's party)
King Endrin: "Are you ready to be presented to the heads of the noble houses?" (warm, fatherly)
(Blah blah blah)
IF PROVING HONORS DEATH
Meino: "When he mistimed that back swing, I knew he was going down." (bragging)
Bemot: "Poor bastard. Still, couldn't wish it on a nicer house." (sympathetic. snide in the second statement)
Meino: "Well put! Our new commander taught House Dace a serious lesson--" (smug, pleased)

On an OOC note, I just like the concept of a dwarf templar and want to play it to the hilt.

If you have Bruntin killed (the guy that argues with the scholar), there will be ambient comments from the nobles in the throne room based on whether it was a public or "accidental" death.
PUBLIC MURDER
"Well-played with young Bruntin."
"House Vollney will not miss that scum, Bruntin."
"ACCIDENT"
"A shame about young Bruntin, hmm?"
"I suppose they'll never prove who killed the Vollney pig."

So he's completely ignoring the fact that you're the one who called the fight? Favorite indeed...(a little offended at the gossip -- he does not like having this fight mar his child's party)
I wonder how that would have worked. Would they have agreed upon rules beforehand? Would there have been an option to keep attacking once he was the first injured? Although if it really was 'first blood' and thus the first hit, it would have been an even lamer fight, especially if you immediately immobolized him...

Since you're back to looking up toolset convos, at some point can you look up the Gorim reunion scene? I know some of the romance-specific VO ones were posted but not the entire thing and it's kind of hard to read.I have the toolset open so gonna bring it up while I'm here

You mean the turn-based systems? You could walk away from a fight and still win...thegreateski wrote...

No. Not the turn based system. I was talking about the actual battle animation.

*Tree 1.*
Gorim: My life has been less dramatic. I-I have married into a surface family. My wife is the daughter of the best smith in Denerim.Gorim: We're......expecting our firstborn before the spring. (VO: Proud, but hesitant. )PC: But....what about us?Gorim: Even in Orzammar, we both knew it couldn't last. I was honored by the time we shared, but....
*Tree 2*
PC: I could never find a better man than you.
Gorim: Perhaps it is better for me to wish you the best and let you continue your business in the city.
Gorim: But please, let me at least offer you a discount on my father-in-law's crafts. They are all fine work.
PC: You jerk! I hope you and your ugly wife rot together!
Gorim: My lady, I am sorry.I would never have tried to hurt you.
Gorim: Forgive me.
I don't have a female DN, but I was starting to feel the urge to smack Gorim as I was reading this.

The longer Sereda left the matter, the bigger deal it seemed. It just wouldn‘t end. Even though she was a Surfacer and visited Orzammar only on matters of Grey Warden custom, she was still made Paragon. It was a recent change and one that came with a heavy price; her weak ego made her accept the title, despite herself. Her weak, stupid-
“You got that face on,” a voice said from the doorway. She looked up with a wry eyebrow and removed her hands from her chin, cocking her head to one side at the speaker.
“Oh?”
Alistair was leaning against the frame of the entrance, book in hand. It was getting late and she was tired, but Sereda could not be bothered to move from the desk. It was a vicious cycle really; she’d stay up for hours longer then she should in this chair, attempting to do work. The exertion of moving and shuffling to bed seemed too much effort compared to just sitting there and letting her brain tick over slowly, a million thoughts away from slumber.
“Yeah, the brooding Commander look.“ He faced her seriously and she smiled faintly in return. Sereda thought of the wayward recruit who had sat there earlier and was duly lectured by the Commander on duty and morality, and wondered if her lover would appreciate the same. Alistair soon ruined the effect by putting his bare feet on her desk, and she rolled her eyes at the gesture.
WOOOO EXCERPT. If I post it here it means I have to post it SOON and then I can finish my damn duster chapter. (See? Toldddddddd you wouldn't like it, dwarf thread. Nothing to see here, moving on.)
